Good Morning everyone,
I’ve been up for hours, sat in front of the fan, but with thick socks on as head hot but feet cold and achy!
For some reason I keep thinking it is Saturday, although all my days are the same these days. No plans for today, I will probably sit and read my book and then think of some pottering jobs I can be getting on with, my inspiration and energy have disappeared.
Tea tonight will be using up some packet Mexican style rice that I found in my pantry tidy up, together with salsa and meat free sausage. It will make a change from sandwiches and toast that I have been eating while it has been so hot.
Take care all.13 -
Sorry to see that you're not well Peony, you must be starting a bug. I was thinking it's Saturday as well, I've been a day ahead all week.
It's a grey start here, not exactly cold, but it might brighten a bit.
Yesterday was an ok day, just housework and trying to finish the Reading Group book before we meet on Monday. It's quite an easy read though, so I will finish it.
Dh had news last night that his elder brother, aged 92, is in hospital. His son thinks it may be dehydration, but it's a bit worrying. He lives in the South west, so we can't visit easily, we haven't a car now.
Not much on the agenda today, hope everyone else has a good day.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope your plants are doing well.
I think the weather will change today from warm and sunny to fresher and overcast with a forecast of rain for later. Whilst I'm sorry to lose the sunshine the rain will be very welcome for the garden.
I stopped procrastinating yesterday and dug the rather large thistles and other weeds out of allotment 2 so that's all done, just need to keep on top of things now. The ground was so hard I nearly gave up! Will order some more raised beds to get more things going.
Sounds like your day was a bit difficult Ruby, I would think very carefully about taking on the client.
Glad you enjoyed the show Gers, hope you had a smooth journey home.
Friday, yipee! There's a Community Cafe on at school later so I probably won't get my early finish.
I called to see the rather spotty little one yesterday, she was quiet but ok, hoping no more spots appear.
Happy Friday everyone, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. PEONY like you I have been all at sea with days this week. Probably the BH but as every day is the same now that shouldn't really make any difference should it!
I spoke too soon about the rain passing us by yesterday as, no sooner had I said it, there were some enormous claps of thunder and a torrential downpour lasting about 2 minutes! The sun eventually came out at lunchtime so I had a couple of hours in the garden reading.
I gave a good dust and vac downstairs yesterday morning so just the upstairs to do today.. And then I need to trip into town to collect an item of meds that is out of sync with all my other stuff. But woe betide me if I try to order it at the same time as the rest as that's before its due date and I would get my hands smacked!
I seem to have lived off salad, baby potatoes and "something" all week thanks to the heat and I'm a bit fed up of salad now. So yet to christen today's dinner. Have a good day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want. YL wishing your DS good luck with his job applications. A relative is in the same boat but he is older, he's 59, and nobody wants you at that age. It's soul destroying applying for job after job and mostly with no replies. Take care all be safe x.

Many thanks for all your well wishes for DM, she is relatively unscathed after her fall, some bruises and stiffness. She has a scan today at the local hospital so that will be today’s outing! Consultant appt not for 4 weeks which feels like a long time to wait for results.
I’m hoping to get some more gardening and craft work done over today and the weekend - the heat has seemed to have stopped activity but must try and catch up.
Best wish to all

Morning all
It feels a bit cooler this morning temps due to get to 22 later which is much more comfortable, I woke at 5 this morning 🙄 typical on my day off, so the wm is nearly finished and another load to go in after.
So yesterday was much better with G, I got this job through a lady T who I introduced to O and family via FB she did some work for them and also had a bad experience and left, she called me last week and offered me some work with G, his wife has been his sole carer for 20 years and the marriage was breaking down because of the stress, so T told the wife to go away for a week and that she would cover care with different people, but she only managed to get herself and me involved so I would go in during the day and then T would pop in early evening and settle him for the night, but G was then alone until I went in the next morning he could not even get himself a drink or food due to him being paralysed which I was not comfortable with but did what I could to help, so when I got there yesterday the paramedics were there (his MS nurse had called them) to hoist him from his recliner chair to his bed and make him more comfortable, but he was very upset and I think it was all to much for him, long story short he ended up going into hospital where at least he will get food and drink and people there to help him, I tidied the house and then locked up and left. His wife is due home tomorrow and they will then discuss what’s to happen going forward I think it’s too much for one person to cope with so potentially he may be going into care, or alternatively have more full time carers at home. I really got on well with G he has had a really sad life, but is a fascinating man but I need to have a good think about if the job is the right one for me, it’s a lot of medical procedures and my specialty is Autism and Learning difficulties, but I did really get on with him, at least he is safe for now which is a relief, I think T promised more than she could deliver which did not give G the cover he needed. It’s all very sad but at least he is safe for now.
I have a click and collect to pick up later this morning and I need to do my invoicing then the day is my own, I am not sure what’s for dinner but I will work that out once I’ve got the shopping.
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning
A cooler start to the day, yesterday got up to 30 degrees again. It was bearable all morning then temperatures rose quickly in the afternoon and didn't really cool down all evening.
The mixer tap in the kitchen is leaking, well actually it's been leaking for a while, but yesterday DH decided to look at it. After much mumbling and cursing he has decided we need a new one, so that may be today's job.
No idea what to have tonight, we have been surviving all week on whatever we feel like eating. Last night was pork steaks, DH had his with mushrooms and egg, and I found a cauli cheese in the freezer.
That's all from me, another one who woke up thinking it was Saturday.
Have a good day all, take care.

Good morning all - thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. No more sunshine here, it's rather muggy and grey instead.
The journey home was so lovely, blue skies and sunshine though I was cold on the bus as the driver had racked up the AC. It was packed with tourists, most going to Arrochar to do hiking or climbing or heading to the Islay ferry. It's the season!
I've just enough food in the fridge for the next two days if I don't scoff it all at once. 😀This morning I've been doing some more serious packing, the seven day forecast for Toronto is good. It'll be T-shirts, one warm jumper, jacket, wearing jeans for travelling and taking one pair of chinos. I've got a wee bottle of clothes washing liquid as the I'll be in a hotel apartment. One pair of shoes to wear, one pair to take, socks and undies.
I don't tend to pack a lot, even for longer journeys as I can wear and wash most things. Watching what people take on the long-range buses from Glasgow makes me shudder whilst wondering if they are moving home.
This morning I'm going to head up to the big town for last minute stuff (bet I don't buy anything remotely last minute) and to post off a couple of parcels.
@mehefin - exciting times coming up. It's not that long that you were in two kinds of despair, now it's all turning out so well.
@RedRuby1231 - my heart goes out to that poor man. What a situation to be in, you are so caring and kind even when out of your comfortable working place.
@TravellingAbuela - the pharmacist at my local surgery spent some time with me last year syncing my meds so that it's easier all round. Now they are on a 12 month prescription so are dispensed every eight weeks automatically. Could that be done by the surgery for you?
There's so much gardening going on, the rain is probably needed. Digging hard ground is no fun @camelot1001. My big Sambucus nigra (black lace elder) tree is in bloom now, perhaps I'll miss the chance to make more elderberry syrup this year which would be a shame.
That's better news about your beloved DM @dp1, fingers crossed that she remains more settled and the house sells soon.
Hugs to all, especially our poorlies and those coping with difficult situations.

Morning all
Another wakeful night as it was so muggy. Warm today but not as hot as yesterday.
I potted some runner beans a couple of weeks ago and nothing seemed to be happening but this morning one has come up so, hopefully, the others will make an appearance soon. Little things eh!
Nothing planned except spraying the roses with disease spray I got today while out shopping as the ones I already have are old now so probably not as potent.
Hope everyone has a good day x
