Hi can I ask has anyone won with Best before and does this seem genuine or a scam?

This is the e-mail I received at just after 6 this evening.

Dear Leah,

I’m delighted to inform you that you have won £200 in our crossword puzzle competition as seen in issue 11, 2026 of best magazine. Congratulations!

Prizes are claimable through our Beneficiary Self-Management system with HSBC, a simple process through which you trigger the payment of the prize money into your bank account or PayPal account following the steps set out in this HSBC video.

For security, this process involves a two-step authentication process as part of which you will receive a password to your mobile phone number. Therefore, we kindly ask that you respond to this email with your up-to-date mobile number for this purpose, by Monday 1 June. After this, please look out for an email from HSBC within 10-14 days (advisory.clientbenefservice@bsm.business.hsbc.com) for the next steps in claiming your prize money.

Once the email from HSBC is received, please follow the instructions to register using REGCODE4130 for the “Registration Code”.
