Morning @Gers Morning all
Another hot one on the cards today. Will get out in the garden early and give it a good water before the sun gets out there.
Got rid of our bbq last year as we hardly ever used it but will use the airfryer instead today, less smoke!!
Nothing else planned today except another peaceful day in the garden and watching the last football game of the season on tv this afternoon when it's too hot to sit out in the garden anymore!
Have a good day all x

Morning all
It’s already 22deg here 😃 yesterday got up to 27 by early evening, I got the fan out of the loft to put on at bed time and it’s broken so I will get OH to have a look at it and get another one if it’s broken.
The man delivered DD’s fridge freezer yesterday and it’s almost brand new, it needs a clean so we will do that today, we have turned it on this morning and are letting it down to temp, we will probably keep it turned on to prevent it going smelly, we can store some things in there.
OH and I are going out on our bikes today we will go for a ride somewhere and stop at a pub for a drink, it’s a perfect day for it, bbq again tonight and I will do mum a dinner, I will ask if she wants to come here but I think she would prefer to stay at home.
Dogs to be walked probably at the woods where it’s a bit cooler.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Yesterday turned out sunnier than forecast so I did more pottering, sorting out in the back garden before collapsing in the sunshine with my book. Today promises to be similar before the extreme heat descends tomorrow. I have actually got a summer dress on today. It's one I bought last year for a birthday bash and it only got worn that once thanks to our miserable summer. Fingers crossed this year will be better.
I am just waiting for DS to arrive for our Sainsbury's shop. He wants to get there for browsing time (9.30) and hopes we will be finished, ready and waiting for the checkouts opening at 10. He might be but I doubt I will be! My legs get slower and slower as I go round but I'll do my best. I seem to be stuck in a rut with shopping, getting more or less the same stuff every time, and feel I want a change. I've been looking at offers on their website to give me a few ideas.
No plans for the rest of the day. Nothing too strenuous in this heat. A bit of gentle pottering in the garden before collapsing with my book again. Have a good day folks if you can, keep cool and stay safe. YL I hope you are soon feeling better and can enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Take care all x

It's not hot here!! Only 13 degrees and rather dull outside.
The journey home yesterday was rather slow from way before Loch Lomond to well past it. Long slow moving traffic for miles and miles before some vehicles went off up the A82 and the A83 smoothed out. I got the later bus which goes via the airport so the motorway part was slow too. However, once we got up to speed the drive was lovely, blue skies and bright waters.
I arrived home at exactly the same time as Lawrence did, he left three hours earlier on the train south. He'd taken a broken piece of kit from his work, a CCTV system, and it was stolen on the train journey. Bet that thief who thought he'd bagged something good got a shock to find it useless! Saved L from carrying it further. 😂
The washing machine is chugging away, only an express mode to freshen up some things, I'll get it all hung outside and keep my fingers crossed.
So sorry that you're so poorly @YorksLass, keep on taking your time with chores. How is your eye @remmie? I've booked an optician's appointment for July to check on the cataracts which are stewing away.
I'm going out to the wee bakery later after which I'll sit and clear out tons of WhatsApp messages from my phone. Found some from 2021 - mostly chit-chat so it can go, it's just clogging up storage. My aim is to download some films / TV programmes to watch on the flights as there's no entertainment on the plane.
Enjoy your bike ride @RedRuby1231, I hope that your garden time is relaxing @Chrisca50.
Must awa' - hugs to all. xx

Good morning
Another bright and sunny start, I could get used to this weather. I'm pleased it's turned out hot for the BH, not that they bother us any more. OH just has to watch what time he's walking big dog, early morning and later at night. Being a white dog we have to be careful of the sun, as all dog owners do.
No idea what's for dinner, probably something with salad. Plenty in. Last night we had cheese and ham toasties, all we fancied.
@TravellingAbuela I'm the same with grocery shopping, need some new ideas. Especially ones that Mr Fusspot will eat.
@Gers Thanks for asking about my eye. I feel that this time it's better than last, no discomfort at all. If you get offered surgery go for it. I didn't realise how much difference it would make to my sight, everything looks so much brighter.
That's it for today, enjoy the sunshine if you've got it, but take care.

Another scorcher today expected and tomorrow is supposed to be dizzy heights of 31!!!.
Gers sorry to hear your journey back was so long. Sorry to hear about your DN theft is nothing safe nowadays!.
I came back from London yesterday morning, it was a better journey out than going in.
DD took DGD down to her dads for the week and her journey was well over 3 hours. DGC arrived safely in Spain and didn't seem to get too caught up in the chaos at Dover.
Our friends come back from their holiday today, have been over and closed the curtains to keep the bungalow a little cooler. Their little dog is currently on our sofa relaxing but think it is already too warm for her. Last night we sat outside until almost 11.
TA I must admit I find winter shopping easier then summer. I popped onto the sm on the way home yesterday and bought salad as I didn't want to cook
in the kitchen. Today is a BBQ, DH went to the butchers yesterday before I got home. He said customers were out the door.
Think tomorrow will also be a BBQ with our friends and possibly DD. They have a pool and have already invited us over. the heat has really inspired my crop of Iceburg lettuce think we will use one tonight and give some to DD and friends. My potatoes are doing very well. First year for me doing veg so really hoping all goes well.
Remmie glad your eye is doing well after surgery, like others I have cataracts but they are not yet "ripe" enough. Like you I am not looking forward to having them done. I didn't even like using eye make up as I don't like things near my eyes (big woose here)
Ruby glad DD fridge arrived ok, she must be excited about having her own place. Enjoy your bike ride but remember hats and sun screen.
Derek lovely to hear your new lady is making a quilt for your DS, I'm sure it will be appreciated.
Yorkslass I hope you start to feel a bit better soon, sometimes I find this hot weather can be too much when not feeling great. Take care.
Right another load to go in the line, have a lovely day folks.

Morning all and welcome to another sunny day! 😃
I'm feeling much better today, thank you for the Get Well messages - lots of sleep combined with honey & lemon drinks and paracetamol seem to have done the trick and I feel almost human again. I managed to do more weeding than I expected yesterday and will carry on today. It isn't that long since I cleaned the outside of the kitchen window but we've had so much rain of late it doesn't look like it. 😕 Or should I say it didn't, because I've been out already and done it before the sun gets around to that spot. Go me.
It was nice to have a meal made for me yesterday and I really appreciated DS's cooking. Later on we had a SM own brand version of a Cornetto, also much enjoyed. I've amended today's meal plan to pulled pork with salad potatoes and cauliflower (far too hot for a normal Sunday dinner) and I suspect I could be doing a revision of other meals this week too.
@Ruby - Your preps for DD's flat are coming on well, not long to go now.
@TA - Fingers crossed we all get to use our summer clothes more this year!
@Gers - I like your droll way of looking at the theft! 😂
@remmie - Glad to hear your cataract post-surgery is going so well. It's amazing how much brighter colours are; the only downside is being able to see all the dust that used to be invisible! 😉
Right, time for more gentle pottering in between the breaks. Have a lovely day all, take care. xx

A bit later from me today, I've been and bought 20 bags of compost for my new raised beds, had to make two journeys as they wouldn't all fit in the car. A lovely chap at Aldi put them on a pallet trolley and took them to the car for me, made such a difference. Anyway, the bags are all emptied and watered so will go back later to put the veggies in.
It's 19 degrees here but no sunshine yet - lovely. Washing on the line and shouldn't take long to dry with the breeze.
Painting finished yesterday and I'm quite pleased with it, glad I managed to do it myself and not have to pay someone to do it for me - it's only the laundry so not as if many people will see it. Need to go to Ikea to get a couple of units to put in and then it's done.
Sounds like you got a bargain with the fridge freezer Ruby.
Glad you're feeling better YL, don't do too much today.
Shocking that something was stolen from your Nephew Gers, only happy that it was something that didn't work!
Have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX

I'm back from shopping, with all put away, in record time. There were quite a few people waiting for the doors to open with the same idea as us. And I amazed myself, I was waiting for a checkout to open before DS had finished. It ended up an expensive shop though. There were quite a few offers on 3 for 2 ranges and it seemed a shame to ignore those so, after saying yesterday that my freezer stocks were going down, they are now rammed again! Plus, in view of the better weather, I got quite a lot of nice things to have with salad and baby Jersey pots. I am now spoilt for choice!
NRA I am envious of you growing some of your own veg and I hope it's successful.. The first year we were at the caravan site a few of us decided to grow an assortment of veg in large collapsible containers outside around our awnings. Oh dear, this didn't go down well with the owners. We got told in no uncertain terms that such things are not conducive to a woodland site, it's not a market garden, and please don't repeat it again another year! So not to be beaten we grew tomatoes in grow bags in our awnings the following year, out of their sight!
After my lunch I think a lazy afternoon may follow, If it doesn't get too hot I shall sit a while in the back garden reading. This will no doubt be a cue for all the lawn mowers, strimmers etc to come out disturbing the peace!

@Gers your DNs experience reminded me of being burgled almost 40 years ago - we had 2 TVs because one had broken, and each had a remote control. Only one of the TVs was stolen, the broken one, but no remote so even if it was working it couldn't be used!
