Default Should I Start Paying

My Barclay card has now defaulted and the debt has been sold to PRA and they have passed onto moorcroft to collect payment, do I start paying moorcroft or ignore and wait them to return it to PRA?

It depends on what your overall plan is.

Do you have other debts? Are you going to try to pay everyone back? Is paying anything the right debt solution for you???

You might benefit from reading about the various solutions here - Debt solutions - what is your best option?

But for us to advise you more fully it would be helpful to see your statement of accounts (see SOA in my signature) so we have the big picture.

If Moorcroft were acting for Barclaycard, then I would say ignore.

But, as the debt has been sold to PRA Group, and Moorcroft are acting for them, you do risk legal action if you ignore for any length of time, not from Moorcroft, but from PRA Group, so you can engage now if that is your plan.

The plan is to make payments (self managed DMP). I am waiting for a few more cards to default which hopefully will happen over the next couple of months but have payments worked out for each one which is affordable to me.

You don't have to wait, you can start making payments whenever you want to. Make sure you pay by standing order so you are in complete control, collectors usually try and push debit card or direct debit payments because they make it more difficult for you to change the amount.
