Self-assessment and survey earnings
I've earned over £5000 on prolific last year, so I think I need to do a self assessment tax return. Does anyone know any good guides on how to do this please?

Sensible starting point would be HMRC's own guidance notes to completing the SA 100 below -
When completing the accompanying self employment pages, do note if your trading expenses against the £5,000 trading income is less than £1,000 you can claim the £1,000 trading allowance instead.
Most people on these forums seem to use HMRC's free online filing program to self assess. However there are ( paid for) third party software providers, who in addition to providing a portal to prepare and file a return can provide a degree of technical support. I use such software for the past 13 years, and can confirm that in my case annual fee has been worth it.
