Having looked at eBay listings, I'm now wondering who the employer is!

Things are changing.
The original query was the OP's father received a long service gift from the employer (possibly the father's long service or possibly the company achieving a milestone age). The gift was a personalised (company name) version of the Monopoly board game.
The gift was unwanted and would clutter up the loft. The OP therefore listed the gift for sale on an online auction site for "a very high price". The listing seller (OP) used a username that linked back to OP's father.
OP's father now been advised of a meeting with the employer.
First question was about whether the gift can be sold or any action can be taken by the employer against OP's father.

Even if the employee has broken no contractual agreement with the employer, I wouldn't be confident that the integrity and judgement of the employee isn't likely to be questioned by the employer. If the long-service gift was given, say 10 years ago, I doubt the employer would care if it was now being sold but if it was given in the more recent past, selling it could seem more like a huge 'up yours' to the employer. And given that these bespoke board games are probably easily identifiable as being made for the company, could it have ramifications for the company's image? Is it possible that competitors could point to the sale of the item, and now apparently several of them, as indicators that the company is in trouble?
It's surprising to me that the OP finds this funny, given that it could have lasting negative implications at work for their parent. I doubt the parent could be sacked for selling a gift but as I said above, it's likely to call their judgement and commitment to the company into question and unfortunately, once that happens, employers are very slow to change that perception, if indeed they ever do.

as if keeping a board game means being a team player or not being one lol. Besides Monopoly you do not play as a team so they kinda got that wrong anyway its a every man for themselves game
I am not sure whether this is your attempt at humour, or you do not understand the term "team player".in the business sense
Your actions have put your father in an awkward position
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales4 -
When they get into work I suspect Samuel L Jackson will be sitting in the HR office wearing a crisp blue shirt and orange tie ready to give him a good beating with a slice of toast or maybe Morgan Freeman will invite him in for tea and crumpets.

The closest match I found was Bremont (watches) or Home Hardware (US retailer).
If it was the former, as a luxury brand, the corporate expectation would be that employees live and breathe the brand. For them, seeing an employee demonstrably not "on message" would be a negative.
Overall, the OP's actions have been immature at best and leave the OP's father with an unwelcome discussion at the minimum.

@Grumpy_chap I think we're mostly guessing this well-known brand:

There is a certain type of irony about this.

Thanks.
That does, indeed, have the five listings the OP referenced. Also, all listed at a high price. If the prompt for these listings was not the OP's listing (how would that be demonstrated?) then the other listings potentially give the OP's father some cover.

I'm thinking Warbutons
Quite a few that are new and sealed, different sellers and 1 saying not sold in store.
