Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. After yesterday's lovely sunny day, today we are promised more cloud and not as hot. Sun back tomorrow.
I never got stuck into any serious work yesterday, it was more a day of doing lots of small jobs that had been neglected for too long. The only taxing one was the sweeping and that was done in fits and starts as my legs allowed. All down the side of the garage, next to neighbour's blooming enormous conifers, it's always in the shade as the sun never reaches it and it's caked in moss. I am not up to vigorous scrubbing so need to find an easy solution! to get rid of that! I think today will probably be a rinse and repeat of neglected jobs, mostly outside. Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all be safe x

Morning again. I'm all showered, dressed and ready for an hotel breakfast. I wasn't going to bother though I'm on a later bus than normal so won't be home until about 3pm. Weather is gloomy, probably rainy and mild.
@TravellingAbuela - is there a local youth / handyman willing to do a little bit of work? Is 'Bob a job' still a thing?
My evening with Lawrence was lovely. On the spur of the moment we decided to go to the Glee Club. Four unknown comedians, two OK, one good and one who really wasn't funny. Still a good couple of hours.
Wishing everyone a good day. Hugs to all. Xx7 -
Good morning, thanks for the start Gers.
Its sunny here, forecast to be warm I think. It's never as hot here as it is down south, but we don't mind that.
Yesterday was an ok day, sunny, warmish, we got some gardening done.
We need a few bedding plants, will go to the garden centre today I think.
Hope everyone is ok and has good days. Take care folks

Good morning
Sunny and warm here, yesterday turned out to be very hot and there's more to come, although the forecast for today says it will be cooler. I can cope with that.
My bff rang me yesterday, she is really suffering with her hip, and had a cortisone injection, she says she has to walk with a stick now. She is usually such an active person so is finding it hard. This getting old malarkey is no fun, is it?
I'm thinking I may just do picky bits tonight, last night we had salmon with new potatoes and veg but it's too hot for cooking, says she with a new pressure cooker.
Have a good day all, enjoy the sun if you have it, but be careful.

Morning all
Beautiful day here already with temps due to hit around 27 deg which I love but I do find it hard to sleep at night, I won’t complain though as this has been a long time coming.
We got the bed for dd yesterday and today the fridge man is hopefully delivering the fridge, we will have to keep it in the study for the time being but it’s only for a while so we will manage, we also went to her house to measure for curtains and flooring, so we will start looking for curtains now, I think I may have a pair upstairs in the loft so will try and pull them out.
Dinner tonight will be a bbq I got some minty lamb chops yesterday and some jersey royals, I also made up a salad which has sun dried tomatoes, pearl mozzarella, red onions a whole roasted garlic bulb, olive oil and parsley I left it to marinate overnight so I’m looking forward to trying it.
Enjoy the sun if you have it x
Have good days all and take care xx

Going to be a scorcher today. Gingerbread cake made before it gets too hot in the kitchen. Stripped the bed and will make it before the sun hits the bedroom!
A nice afternoon expected in the garden listening to the birds singing, crows squaking and trying to read my book in between and trying not to melt.
Have a good day all x

Thanks for the start Gers, hope you enjoyed your breakfast. Sounds like you had good time with your nephew, safe travels home, it'll probably be busy on the roads.
I started the painting yesterday, it's a small room with 4 doors so lots of edging to do. I've given everything another coat this morning, one more should do it. My legs will be very strong after this with all the bending and climbing ladders!
Lovely meal out with a few drinks last night, we went on the train and it just started to drizzle as we got home.
I got the washing dry outside yesterday and cut the grass (bit wet but not too bad). Bedding on the line this morning as I think it's to stay sunny and dry but not as hot as some of you thankfully.
Stay safe and take care. XX

Morning all, thanks @Gers, have a safe journey home.
I've been missing for the last couple of days, partly because there's not much happening, partly because DS has been using my laptop for job applications but mainly because I've not been firing on all cylinders - headache, earache and sore throat. Typical, just when the good weather decides to arrive! You're right @remmie, getting old isn't all it's cracked up to be. 🙄 And I'm not a 'patient' patient either!
The aches and pains have made it too uncomfortable to watch TV, read, do any craft work etc so I've been entertaining myself by watching the local wildlife. The resident fox appears almost every night and has been marking his territory and I'm wondering if there's a second one in the area. We often see red kites overhead and one in particular is either thinking of taking up residence or has found itself a good viewing platform on a tall tree behind the houses on the other side of the road. Sometimes a hedgehog makes an appearance at dusk and of course there's the usual birds during the day. So, plenty to keep me occupied. 😃
In between I've been doing just the necessary but really would like to get outside today to tackle the ever-present weeds and do a bit of a tidy up but it will have to be along the lines of 10 minutes effort followed by 10 minutes rest, then rinse and repeat. 😁 The second hanging basket I ordered has arrived and is just as good as the first one; a mix of white, orange and purple. The hydrangea bush I tidied up recently is looking very healthy too, lots of flower buds waiting to be enjoyed soon. DS is in charge of tonight's tea - chicken escalopes with some kind of sauce, Jersey potatoes, peas and sweetcorn.
Apologies for not mentioning everyone but I promise I have been reading along! I'm hoping you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and enjoy the sun - don't forget the sunscreen though! Take care, stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all,
I meant to post earlier, but decided to go through my kitchen cupboard before it got too hot. All done, and I now know what needs using up this month.
Currently, I m sat in front of the fan, together with my heat pad on for my back! It is nice to see the sun though, and hear the neighbourhood children playing in their paddling pools.
Not much else planned for today, I will probably watch the football.
Lovely to read everyone’s news, take care all.
