Wickes Solar Panels

We are getting a new roof fitted Leeds in August, so thinking about getting Solar Panels too. We use 5K kwh per year and have an EV.

I have followed Martin’s advice and got quotes from the 3 suppliers Glow Green, Project Solar and So Energy, using the Federation of Master Builders tool. I have also got a quote from Wickes. Has anyone had any experience with Wickes or the above. Any advice would be greatly appreciated? TIA

Which Martin are you referring to and why did you select Project Solar, So Energy and Wickes?

They have poor reputations and some use subcontractors to do the work. Instead, try to find an installer who will offer ethical panels (not Chinese) and a Tesla Powerwall 3, and you should have an excellent experience.

I’m talking about Martin Lewis. I followed the advice on his website, apart from Wickes. I have followed Martin since 2006 and trust what he states on MSE website. Do you have any advice on suppliers?

If you are in Leeds I would definitely consider Leeds Solar. I've found them very fair and extremely knowledgeable. It's difficult to get quick timescales from them but that's probably a symptom of their success .
