Contact them, point our their error and ask them to change the date.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Ring then again and tell them they've made a mistake?

(The call will likely have been recorded so there should be a record of what you actually asked for, if it is needed.)

There is no ‘end date’ as such on a DC work pension. Generally if people ask to delay the original retirement date, age 74 is frequently used, this does not mean you cannot access it before this date.

When you are ready to access the pension, you can just contact Aviva and let them know what you want to do with it.

Don't worry about it. It doesn't mean a thing unless you're in a lifestyle and strategy.

The selected retirement age is just there for sending out the statements every year with a projection of what you might get in a range of assumptions on that given date. It also triggers the clock for the various letters that they send out.

We pretty much set up all pensions to age 99 nowadays. And if you happen to get to age 99, then we would just add ten years.

You normally do not have to ring, you can most likely change this date yourself on their website.

Although as pointed out, it is just a nominal date, you can take your pension before or after any date you put.
