Seat reservations on Avanti West coast
I have just booked Advance tickets with seat reservations from Euston to Glasgow. I wanted table seats because of the long journey but had to pay a higher price to get them. I haven't had that before. If I were to board the train and find that someone else had claimed my seat, would I be able to insist? In the past I haven't had much luck with this.

You've booked and paid for specific seats on a particular service.
If someone refuses to move then get the train staff to sort it out.

Yes in theory but I remember a previous trip when the guard/ticket guy refused to help.

Think that is disgusting.
So did you just sit in another seat?
I guess you are getting on a train starting at Euston so that cuts down the risk of someone sitting in your seat if you arrive in good time.
(Myself the coach itself was not there so we got in next coach and no one bothered us even the fact they were reserved for someone.)
Hope all goes well for you.

If someone is in your seat then ask them to move, if there is an issue speak to the train manager.
Maybe this trip won't be like your previous one.
Never had to pay extra for a specific seat unless it was for First Class or Standard Premium.

So First Class or Standard Premium. Last time I travelled using Standard Premium it was great. Only seven people in the carriage.

I had to choose standard premium to get a table. I tested non premium first but no table.

Standard Premium is just first class without the food and drink and lounge access. Tables have inbuilt wireless charging as well as the wall sockets.
