Good morning, I'm early because back pain woke me. I went to Drs last week and she gave me a prescription for pain killers, but all they seem to do is give me a dry mouth.
Gers, hope yesterday went as well as it could, and that your journey was all right. I know you're moving on again, safe travels.
We are meeting an old friend who lives in Northumberland for lunch today. Haven't seen her for quite a while, so it'll be nice.
Hope everyone is all right whatever you're up to today, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, sorry to hear your back is giving you pain. Enjoy meeting up with your friend.
Safe travels Gers, hope yesterday was a fitting celebration for Lionel.
It's cold this morning with showers, glad I haven't put away the winter clothes yet!
The children at school were planting sunflowers yesterday so I've taken a few spare seeds to plant here - the competition is on!
Hope you're all well, take care. XX

Hope you can get something stronger on the painkiller front @ScarletRibbons
Strange weather yesterday. One minute dark and windy, next minute heavy rain with some hailstones thrown in, 2 minutes later blue skies and sunny, on repeat. Today still low temperatuers and more rain. Same here with the summer clothes @camelot1001
Another quiet day here with nothing planned except a parcel delivery later on.
Hope your enjoying your travels @Gers
Have a good day all x

Morning all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons, sorry that you're still in pain. 🥰
The celebration was lovely, so many people, most of whom I didn't know. There were four speeches, one from Lionel's niece ( she mentioned me which made me cry) and three long ones from university colleagues full of historical references. Right in the middle of very erudite comments my mobile began ringing. My ring tone is Yakety-Sax, the chasing tune from the Benny Hill show. 😱 Luckily, everyone burst into gales of laughter which carried on for ages. 😂. I'm sure that Lionel would have greatly enjoyed it too. Phew!
The parking angels were on my side as I found a space very near the venue (in a notoriously congested street) and then another right outside the hotel in a very busy residential street. Thanks for all the good wishes folks, I'm really touched. Today is still in Glasgow with my friend Alan. Meanwhile, hugs to all. Xx

Morning folks. Ouch SCARLET I.hope your back pain soon eases a bit.
Weather yesterday much like CHRISCA had. This morning blue sky, sun but frosty. And we are forecast to crawl back into double figures with the temp rising a bit.
Another slothful day ahead spent reading, bird watching/listening and wildlife watching. It's like a ghost town here this week I suppose the poor forecast put folk off coming. I enjoy my stays whatever the weather.
Have a good day folks take care x

Morning all
Today looks a bit better than yesterday so far, we had really heavy rain on and off all day yesterday and hail at one point, we put the fire on last night as we were both chilly it was very cosy.
Not much on the cards today I have to walk the dogs and then pick up my click and collect, I think dinner tonight will be a quiche and new potatoes and salad, I have ordered some GF pastry so will make a quiche later this afternoon.
DD had the dentist later for the next part of her tooth implant it’s been a long process and not over yet but it will be worth it once it’s all done.
Gers I’m glad yesterday went well xx
Scarlet back pain is horrible, I hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all from I'm not quite sure what weather it is Mehefinland
Another day of sorting stuff out in prospect-I don't think there is one tidy room in the house at the moment! It doesn't help in having a quilter dumping a lot of her stuff here- I'll need a n extension at this rate. But she is cracking on with the wedding present for DS so it would be churlish ( and probably very stupid lol) to make an issue of it.
@Gers Love your ring tone story - something similar happened to me at a final rehearsal for a choir concert. The conductor was poised to start us off and the blooming thing rang- it's a quacking duck. Much merriment ensued. Needless to say I always check now before choir.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons sorry to hear you're in pain.
@Gers Pleased everything went well yesterday.
It's turned very cold, beginning to wonder if we'll get a summer.
First strawberry starting to ripen, but it is under cover.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.10 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Scarlet. I'm sorry your back is still painful and I hope it eases soon.
Today's weather could be an improvement on yesterday as it feels a little milder out but the rain never seems to be far away. At the moment it's sunny'ish and there's little breeze to speak of - fingers crossed it stays that way.
Baking didn't happen yesterday because I decided to go through the cupboard first to see what needed using up and that turned into a longer job than I'd thought it would, but the cupboard shelves are now clean, better organised and I can see what's in there. 😁 I've decided on a date & walnut loaf and a batch of fruit scones so that's this afternoon's job. Before that I'll be off out to pick up my meds, straight there and back as there are no shops on the way to distract me. Tea tonight is Cornish pasty with mash and cabbage and I'm hoping there will be some leftovers as I really fancy some bubble & squeak. Bit of cross stitch and TV tonight and that's my day.
Have a good day whatever your plans are, hugs where wanted or needed. Take care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -

Gers glad yesterday went well, im sure Lionel would have chuckled about your phone.
DP1 sorry to hear your mum is still distrseed in the home sending hugs
Scarlett hope your pain killers start to do some good.
I am staying at DD this week as she is away until Sunday. DGC were ok but her little terrier was not. She had me up at 2am and decided she would stay in bed with me and I mean in bed.
After DGC went to school I popped home for a nana nap, hoping tonight is better
Sun and showers here today hope everyone has a good one
