Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
The sun was shining a few minutes ago but the clouds have arrived and it looks like rain - there has been some overnight but not enough to water the garden. Glad I cut the grass when I got home yesterday.
(It's raining now!).
I potted on some seedlings last night, quite theraputic. I was in the greenhouse which was quite warm but once the sun went down I realised I was really cold so came in for a hot shower.
Hoping everyone is well and free from worries. Take care. XX

Morning all. Still cold here but sunny at the moment.
I've a friend popping in later and then we're driving down to London to visit our latest grandchild whilst DS is still on paternity leave.
Had a dental appointment yesterday to discuss an implant for the tooth that was removed in January. Now awaiting a phone call to book the next stage. Whilst I'd like a replacement tooth, I can't say I'm looking forward to the procedures involved. Plus it's a busy time of year, although they have managed to book me a hygienist appointment for tomorrow as someone else cancelled.
Take care all and look after yourselves.

Nice bright sunny day here but still chilly, last night turned very cold 🥶 so I was in bed just after 8 and read my book for a while in the warm. I have two people coming today and we are going to have a walk along the seafront and then lunch out at a community cafe should be a nice day
Dinner tonight will be either gnocchi with tomato sauce and garlic bread or salmon fried rice, will see what we feel like later. I cooked mum a pork chop yesterday with new potatoes and some veg and there is another dinner for today as well, tomorrow I will go and make her a lasagne which will do her two days.
I need to sort out a shop so might do that tonight, a click and collect seems to be working for us atm it’s cheaper than a delivery and quicker, I can’t stand shopping so this suits us well.
Have good days all and take care xx

MIA again 😔 .
Had a lovely few days in N Wales last week and a great pottery glazing workshop last night - should see the results at the end of the week.
Still fretting about DMs health, oncology appt tomorrow however all that happens is they ask her how she is and she says fine! She won’t tell me if anything is or isn’t concerning but doesn’t see why that worries me more. Loads of other stuff I’m overthinking as well. And of course main exam season so invigilating is even busier (and more chaotic!).Anyway I’m enjoying longer days and see more wildlife around - muntjac this morning, not unusual but was quite unperturbed (I know they’re non native but still different to see).
Hope everyone takes care, lots of people with concerns over the health of others!

Morning again. I put an quick wash on, it's now hanging outside though just as I came back in the sky clouded over with the threat of rain. The forecast is for showers so my fingers are crossed - the wind is very brisk so perhaps I'll get lucky.
@WickedLady4 - I had three implants done in 2020 and have never regretted it despite the long process. In addition to the simple implant I had to have a bone graft done in one gap, that was the most difficult and drawn out (and expensive) but it certainly was worth it. Perhaps the very worse bit was having stitches in my gums, they were very stiff and the ends really poked into my mouth and tongue. I was very brave! 😂 Anyway, top note is it's better to have one than not. Fingers are crossed for you.
@AlwaysAllie - you'll be on GPTD soon. Parents never stop not wanting to worry their children, it's inbred in them. No help to you or the medics.
I had a frustrating and long phone call with the company which provides travel insurance through my bank. I phoned to declare my kidney / bladder issues, she took me through acres of questions and declared that because of my (long gone) arthritis and the new problem I'd have to pay a premium. Anyway… better to have been honest and covered than end up in a far-away hospital without insurance.
Take care all - hugs all round.

Good morning
It's very dull outside, but no rain unlike yesterday. The weather has certainly taken a chilly turn.
Yesterday was shopping day as we used up the last of the bread. Struck lucky again in Ald*, due to the weather a lot of bbq meat was reduced (not that we have a bbq) but do enjoy the different meats.
Today will be another day of washing and cleaning. Hoping to get the house dog hair free before Friday's eye appointment.
Sending love and hugs to those with DM worries, I guess we will all become those to our children.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning everyone
Yesterday it was freezing here in the morning then strangely mild in the afternoon if you were in the sun, then I needed the heating on for an hour while I was sitting watching TV.
I was later going to bed than usual as I was finishing doing a Tesco order, then realised it's coming on Wednesday not today, never mind it's done. They had cheap delivery slots for Tuesday and Wednesday, which was handy because I didn't really have a time free I could go shopping.
I had little one and little foster baby after work for a couple of hours yesterday, which was lovely. Little one entertained us on her keyboard while he wriggled and rolled.
Right must get moving as I'm going down to the care home before work. Hope everyone has a good day x

Chilly out there again but the sun keeps breaking through and the wind has calmed down a little bit.
Just been out to the frozen foot shop and £land for some bits and bobs. Needed some feed for the roses. DH moved a few over to one side of the garden that gets more sun than the other and they were getting into weird shapes trying to reach the sun. A couple aren't very happy with the move!
We're going away to the sun in a few weeks and have just booked an airport hotel so we don't have to get up in the middle of the night and travel to the airport for an early flight. I've got a blue light card so got a good percentage off the price of the room 😁
@AlwaysAllie my friend/old colleague is having similar problems with her mum-in-law who had a big heart op a few months ago but she is still suffering with shortage of breath etc but when she takes her for appointments she denies most of the symptoms she is getting and says she feels fine. Must be so frustrating for you x
Hve good days all x

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers.
It's looking rather grey outside right now with rain more than likely before lunchtime and there's precious little sun in evidence. I haven't ventured out the door yet but people passing by seem to be muffled up so I'm guessing it's none too warm.
Today's plans are either: A) Collect meds from pharmacy (weather dependent) or B) Work my way through a list of small pottering jobs around the house. Such an exciting life! Either way it leaves the laptop free for DS to continue with his job search. He's updated his CV and, whilst he wants full time, is considering part time too. Chilli & rice for tea, sponge pudding & custard for afters, so nothing too taxing.
@AA - Glad to hear you had a good break, I hope the results of the pottery glazing workshop are pleasing. Many years ago I was on a works away day at a pottery session and still use a bowl and two mugs that I made - happy memories.
@Gers - Sorry your travel insurance has attracted a premium but, as you say, better to be honest.
Enjoy the sun (if you have it) and have the best day you can. Thinking of those dealing with struggles of their own or helping others. Take care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
