Mortgage advice please. What would you do?
I’m looking for some advice please.
My remortgage is due next month, but I’m not sure what to do. I’ve kind of put it to the back burner with a newborn and life stuff.
We are looking to move but probably won’t be in a position to put our house on the market for about 6 months. I was looking for a portable mortgage but I am the only person listed on the mortgage (owe about 40k) but when we move I’d have to add my husband to the mortgage because I couldn’t afford it on my own (about 230k). I assume I couldn’t do this with a portable mortgage?
If I go on the standard rate with my mortgage provider it will be about 6.5% I think.
Do you think I should get an advisor? If so, I would really appreciate someone advising what they should cost so I don’t sign up to something expensive.
Any advice you’d like to impart would be appreciated!

Just log into whoever your mortgage is with and pick the cheapest rate with NO early repayment fees, if you are moving in 6 months anyway.
This will limit you to trackers but will be cheaper than going on the default.

I rang my provider and there is no tracker without fees but they said it can be ported and my husband added . I think I’ll just have to do a 2 year tracker and do that.
