Successful change in Banding back to 1991

Hi,

I'm new on here, I'm in Scotland - please go easy 😉

I applied to get my CT banding changed because I knew it was wrong. I had moved from a same size flat on the same street but different bands, however it took me 4 years to get around to doing it . 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

It's been dated back to when it was originally banded in the early 90s

Our flats are 8 in a block and our bit of the street has 40 flats. All 2 and 3 bedroom flats in my block have the band up from all other 700 odd flats. I obviously checked all the flats around me to make sure I was correct before doing it and my backdated amount was small because I've only been here 4 years.

I have made my immediate neighbours aware but I would like advice on how to inform the others.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

How did you deal with it?

The decision is to make them aware, that's not up for debate, I would like advice from people who may have been in the same position.

Why not put a note through their letterbox, saying briefly what you have done. Or if there is a communal notice board or somewhere you could put up a notice, use that. But as the Assessor has reduced your band, they should be considering reducing the rest of the bands in your block.
