CF83 submitted after April 2025 deadline
I have been living and working abroad since 2010 but unfortunately was unaware of the April 2025 deadline to submit a CF83 and pay NI contributions back to 2010 but thought I might as well submit one anyway to pay the last 6 years which I did in June 2025.
Today I got a response from HMRC with a table that goes all the way back to 2010 and states amounts that I need to pay for each year within the next 31 days to make it a complete year. I called them and they confirmed I can do this. They did not ask about the date of the CF83. I'm a bit worried that the years might not count and I'll just end up losing the money if make the voluntary contributions. What to do?

You've only got 2 options really, pay it and if they later decide the invitation was an error get a refund or not pay it and not get the credits. The whole system is currently an administrative mess, in your shoes I would grab the opportunity while you can.

They’ve been doing this with a lot of people so I wouldn’t worry about it being an error. For some reason HMRC has decided to be generous. Grab it whilst you can especially if it’s Class 2.
