Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's raining here, it started late last night.
Not a lot happening here today, nothing planned anyway. Who knows, something exciting may happen! ( in my dreams!)
Hope everyone has good days today, take care folks.

Morning all
Beautiful day yessterday but dry and dull today. Heavy rain last night as promised so good for the garden. DH pressure washed the patio and front as everything turns green from next doors trees 😡
Nothing planned today except filling up a wide pot with soil ready for some pansies I'm getting tomorrow. Thai curry for dinner and then snooker and footie this afternoon.
Have a good day all x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Yesterday didn't rain until about 4.30, the washing was dry when I got home. It's raining this morning but may clear up later, if so I'll wash the bedding.
Had a good mooch about the asian supermarket yesterday, some things were cheaper but others not so much, just bought a few things including a lovely bunch of fresh mint for my tea in the mornings. Also called at another couple of shops including Dobbies for some more onion sets that I'll get planted up today.
This morning I have a committee meeting at allotment 2, the chair person has lots of ideas, most of them totally hopeless! If it's not raining too hard I'll stay and dig over the last little bit before I start planting. The place is alive with rabbits so everything will need to be well covered.
The road looks great Gers, must make a big difference.
So sorry your DS's job hasn't worked out YL, hope he finds something else soon.
Glad your window is fixed Izzy.
Hope you get a better boiler quote Ruby.
Hope everyone is well and you have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX

Morning all
Yesterday was glorious until about 3 when the heavens opened, just after I had watered the garden 🙄 I got a few hours in the garden in the morning and potted up a few more things, I bought a beautiful Acer in B&M on Friday so that’s in a large pot in the garden, I also re-lined a lot of my hanging baskets etc with thick black sort of matting so they look better and will hold the water more, I have another two to do today and a few more plants to put in, I also need to pot on some more seedlings although I’m not sure where they will go as we are pretty full 😬
OH has his work clothes in the wm and another load to go in after, we are not due rain although it’s overcast so will hang them out.
Dinner tonight will be cheeseburger wraps, I can’t be doing with a roast in the summer months and prefer something lighter, I will do a salad with them. Dogs to be walked later and a quick hoover and mop through the house.
Our plumber friend gave us a much better quote yesterday and a better boiler so we have booked him in for June which is the earliest he can do it, I just hope the boiler lasts that long as we need the hot water, we worked out yesterday that the boiler is 35 years old 😳 which is amazing and it owes us nothing.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x My bad about the road surfacing cynicism!
Lunch with ex-neighbours was okay but was a bit miffed - can’t say too much but I’ll leave it a good while before seeing them again. Did the Sains food shop en route home - no people check outs open so had to scan and pack my entire trolley - had I known id have taken a scanner from the off!
We watched the snooker - never thought I’d be so engrossed!
Lovely to hear the birdsong this morning. Today we are going to the Sweeps Festival at Rochester with DSis, BIL and Mum. We’ll take the park and ride as will be busy.
Glad you got a better quote for the boiler @RedRuby1231 xShame about DS’s job @YorksLass I hope he got home safely x
Have a good day everyone

Good morning
Dull start here, and a little bit chilly. Today the forecast is for cloudy weather after last night's rain.
I don't know how, but I managed to sleep in until 8.30 this morning. Makes up for all the sleepness night's.
Braising steak and onions tonight, in the slow cooker. Other than that nothing else planned.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Our forecast for torrential rain has been downgraded now to light rain. for most of the day.
I stripped the bed earlier and the bedding is now chugging away in the wm. In view of the forecast it will be festooning the upstairs.
The compost I ordered wasn't delivered yesterday after all. I'll see if it appears today. Although there is no rush for it now the rain has arrived, I won't be out filling all the pots until the rain stops playing. And nothing will be getting planted until all danger of frost has passed. That's usually around the Spring Bank w/e hereabouts.
I had a late night glued to the snooker. The Worlds are the highlight of my year! Sad or wot!! We got addicted to watching snooker way back in the days of Pot Black in the early 70's. The daft thing is most folk then still had black and white TVs so we hadn't a clue what colour ball they were playing for if the commentator didn't tell us!
YL I hope your DS finds something else soon. What a farce this new job has turned out to be, leaving him stranded in Scotland and told to make his own way home at his own expense. RUBY well done on getting someone to fit a new boiler for less money, I just hope the current one hangs on until June. IZZY I hope there have been no more flying cricket balls this w/e..
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all be safe x

I've been faffing about upstairs, mostly sorting out piles of socks which is surprising as I don't tend to wear socks. For no known reason I have eight pairs of unworn Marks socks, the ones with coloured toes, so they'll be heading off to the CS. Discovered that I really don't need to buy any more pairs of woolly winter tights. Against my better judgement I'm keeping my very old grey bra because it's so comfortable, it's now tucked under the sparkly white ones.
@Coxy11 - 😄 It's so easy to be cynical. And you may well be right. The complication here in Scotland is that we have a process of voting called Additional Member System which means we have two votes, one for the constituency MSP and one for the regional MSP. Bit weird and unwieldy too. If you are interested in understanding it here's the link. No pressure! 🤣
Yesterday I got rid of the cardboard, the first big dumpster I tried was empty. Then I went onto the wee 'bakery' for my weekly buttery. After that I fell into a deep sloth with added extra eating - something I haven't done for months and months. More orders arrived so more cardboard squashed, I'll take it away later this morning. No washing will be done as the sky looks laden with rain.
Great news about a better quote @RedRuby1231 and well done on nursing the old boiler through so many years. Fingers crossed for another month.
@camelot1001 - is the Asian supermarket the big one at Anniesland Cross? That's where a huge cannabis farm was found in the offices above.
I hope that all are doing well, aches and pains under control and family doing OK too. Hugs all round.

morning everyone after a lovely day yesterday it is pouring down but at least it has stopped play at the cricket and we got no balls yesterday.YORKSLASS I think that’s shocking about your DS job how can they get away with letting him make his own way home at his expense I will keep everything crossed that something comes up soon for him . Ruby good news that you have got a better quote for the boiler it’s done well to hang on for all them years . I’m making a pork roast dinner today just waiting for my friend to drop her dog off we have got her for a week while they are on holiday she’s no bother and settles well it’s home from home for her here . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
