PayPal
Hi
Does anyone have experience of doing a dmp with PayPal. After I stopped paying my PayPal credit payments my full PayPal account is restricted. Can't withdraw funds or use pay with PayPal at checkouts etc.
Did anyone go through this and get their PayPal (not credit) functionality back or is it gone forever?
Thanks
Bob

I had that when I started my dmp with Stepchange and PayPal froze my PayPal account. They had an odd arrangement where my dmp payments got credited to my main PayPal account and then got transferred to my PayPal credit account the next day. I eventually closed the PayPal credit account after winning an affordability complaint, and then PayPal unlocked my main account after I asked them to.

Give it a little time, PayPal will most likely assign the debt to a collector, usually its Wescott they use, but it can be any collector.
They will write to you, and you can take it from there.
Don`t expect this to be a quick process, debt collection can take a very long time to initiate.
Whether your regular PayPal account remains restricted or not is a matter for them to decide on.
