Pension with Aegon

I think Mr.Leiws needs to highlight the problems people are facing using this incompetent company. After announcing that they are to be bought by Standard Life in the UK, their website is unusable. I am unable to log into my account, check my pension, make alterations to it and this has been going on for months.

This is what it says on its website, the page that is actually reachable.

"This news follows the announcement in December 2025 that Aegon Group will focus on its ambition to become a leading life insurance and retirement group in the United States. This led to Aegon Group starting a strategic review of Aegon UK and this announcement marks the conclusion of that review. 

What does this mean for Aegon UK customers?

There will be no immediate change - it is business as usual and you do not need to do anything. You will continue to be an Aegon UK customer, able to speak to us and transact with us in exactly the same ways as before.  

And we will continue to focus on our strategy, the investment in our business and delivering for you, our customers. 

What happens next?

It is very early stages and there are a lot of details still to work through, including regulatory and legal approvals for the sale. This will take some time. 

In the meantime, you will continue to be an Aegon UK customer, with an Aegon policy. This has not changed.  "

I phoned them the other day and got through to a call centre where it actually sounded like they were having a party in there. Today the website is is inaccessible. Can anyone recommend a pension company that I can transfer to? The only problem being that the way Aegon run their organisation, the new company taking over will actually take months in finalising the transfer with this so called company.

Has anyone ever transfered from Aegon to another company and did it go smoothly?

I've asked for this to be moved to the Praise, Vents and Warnings Board, which seems a more suitable home.

Not normally. All the Aegon companies tend to be fine on transfers.

Has anyone ever transfered from Aegon to another company and did it go smoothly?

Done hundreds. I cannot recall a single issue.

I Thanks for replying.I could never get the app because it was a work scheme that I transferred to a private pension which I always thought was weird.The website I can get to a page where it shows account number.I click on it and the page never loads.

Maye the numbers changed when you transferred from a work scheme to a personal pension and you are entering the wrong number or are on the wrong log in page (they seem to have a lot).

Possibly try a different browser? Clear out cookies etc.

Done all of the above.After getting through on the phone to them, the IT department told me that they know of the problem.i then said that it isn't very good if you are trying to make alterations to your plan which the operator replied you can do by paper.

I was then going to ask him if they accept stone tablets.

I then asked about putting me on the app which I cannot as my pension is unable to.I then asked when the website will be operational , he said he did not know but said just keep trying the website.
