Dental Implants

How on earth do I go about finding a suitable implantologist? My NHS dentist has suggested that the time has now come, after 3 teeth cracked and removed over the last 5 years. Now another has cracked and will be removed soon. That is the tipping point. She will do a referral but their usual place is quite a distance from my home, and there are at least 3 within 5 miles.

I am quite nervous of dentists and need to feel happy with my choice, as I believe I will be having quite a few appointments.

Websites are a bit confusing and are all implants basically the same material? What should I look out for???

Word of mouth (if you'll forgive the pun) - like most services the best place for recommendations are from people you know & trust who have had the same procedure.

Implants are NOT basically all the same…. ask your local dentists which product ranges they fit and read some reviews.

Remember that you will have to visit the dentist several times, since your implants will require regular adjustment. Find out how many of these sessions are included, and how much you will have to pay for future appointments.

I would have hoped your dentist might have helped you with some local implant places?

My dentist has told me the place that the practice usually refer to, but it is not very local to me and the other side of the city. She will do a referral to a closer practice, and I have found 3, all seem slightly different.
