Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, no sun here but it's fairly bright and dry. Not as cold as it has been and the chilly wind seems to have died down for now.
Nice day yesterday with DS1 and family, no castle but a picnic in the park and a kick about with DGS and his beloved football!
Housework today, bathrooms have already been cleaned and the bath mats in the WM. Hoping to go to the allotment for some more digging after shopping for necesseties.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Stirling Castle is on my list of places to visit @camelot1001 - should have gone when we were up at the beginning of the month but just a bit too far from where we were staying - another time!
We did some gardening yesterday and I appear to have been bitten - have taken some anti-histamine but my legs look awful - trousers today then!!I’m taking Mum shopping then we are visiting a privately owned garden this afternoon as part of the NGS. Will also drop grand furbaby off home on the way. He has been as good as gold.
Will get DS2 to do his washing to take advantage of BG’s cheap rate this afternoon. DH need to seal the walls in the en-suite ready for BIL to tile this week - it’s all go.
Have a good day all

The sun will come out @camelot1001, eventually.
The last couple of days have been unusually busy for me, not used to this. On Friday I had a beautiful drive down to the hairdresser. The sea was sparkling, the sky was blue and Arran looked spectacular. The wee ferry was just heading off there, just as well that I missed it.
On the way down I decided to not have my hair cut, just coloured, as it had been quite short the last time, so it was just the pasting of the cream stuff. I may well regret this in a couple of weeks, however I have another appointment at the end of May before I go off on holiday so I hope that I can bear it until then.
Yesterday I had a washing load out on the line by 7.30a.m., then went to the delivery office to send off a couple of returns to JL. After a pit stop to get rid of the recycling and another at home I headed up to the big town to collect two orders, do a bit of shopping and visit a friend on the way back. When I arrived home a slew of parcels were waiting for me (the result of my online spree) which were unpacked after a quick bit to eat. More cardboard! This needed the box cutter to deal with. The new pile of recycling annoyed me so I headed back off to the big dumpster in town to deposit it all.
Later on the mother of the chap who fixed my drawers called. She's going for a hip replacement next week, was rather nervous about and wanted to pick my brains. Off I went, not far, we spent a very pleasant hour chatting about how to deal with the post-op days and then general stuff. We discovered that we had deceased friends in common - most bizarre - so ruminated about them. Deeper conversations were had about PoA, Wills and advance directive (living will in England) as I have a bee in my bonnet about these three important documents.
My sloth time came with sitting through the rather dreary Agatha Christie Poirot film 'Death on the Orient Express' - it's really the Albert Finney depiction of Poirot which irritates me, nevertheless I watched it all the way through for the umpteenth time. Bed.
Today I'm off down to Glasgow on the bus again. Tonight I'm going to see the German comedian Hennig Wenh and home tomorrow morning. Next week the tracks all around my home are being attended to, potholes filled and new tarmac sprayed. It'll be a nuisance but welcomed. They'll doing in sections so I hope that they have the sense to not block off both ends of the way to the main road at the same time.
Must dash, again. I hope that the sun comes out for everyone and health and happiness improve. Hugs to all.

Good morning from sunny Mehefinland
Spent a fair chunk of yesterday re-organising part of the library. It looks better now though.
My seedlings have dried out in this recent cold wind- the compost is like a block of concrete - it is definitely worse stuff since we were banned from using peat. Had to soak the trays in a water bath to try and get some moisture back into the plants-water from a can just runs straight through as it doesn't absorb. Very frustrating!
The cloth for the quilt has arrived- it doesn't look much for what it cost lol. Just shows how little I know about it. The design has been finalised, and now its just finding the time for the making - a process which I'm assured is very time consuming. It's not as if I can assist, other than feeding copious cups of beverages.
Looking after a friends 2 horses whilst she has gone on holiday for 3 weeks! - I'm only doing the first 2 weeks as I'm dog sitting the gsd towards the end of the timescale, and I just don't know her well enough to trust leaving her on her own in my house. First lot done this morning and they seemed happy enough so hopefully it will be an easy task.
Trying to arrange a quick day visit to DS so he can meet my new laydee before the wedding - probably next weekend. We may aim for Laycock as a roughly central point and there will be eateries there ( and probably a shed load of visitors as its a Harry Potter film location).Oh well , I suppose it's ok for one day.
Hugs and spoons as always

Beautiful sunny day here one load of washing about to finish and another to go in.
I finished the conservatory yesterday and it looks so much better, I did notice this morning that I have missed a couple of bits on the ceiling so will do them this morning it will only take five minutes. I still have the plants to put in so will do that today and I might nip to the shop to see if they have any petunias yet.
Dinner tonight will be another bbq, I got a bit of Irish beef half price at Easter so I will start it off in the oven and then crisp it on the bbq, I will do a vegetable rice and some salad.
Hope everyone gets some sun today.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning @Gers and all to follow.
After beautiful weather yesterday we're back to cloud but the sun should make an appearance soon and, with a gentle breeze, we could even get up to 20 deg today. My outside windows have all been cleaned now and I sat out for a good while in the afternoon with my book, not that I read much of it as it was more of a people-watching exercise!
My main job for today is a very rare occurrence - some ironing! Not too much though. 😁 Even dinner is easy, already cooked mince base from the freezer to be topped with mash for a shepherd's pie with savoy cabbage. The only other thing I might do is to get next month's budget spreadsheet set up.
DS should officially start his new job tomorrow as a trade plate driver but he's actually starting today to pick up a car from a local dealership, to be delivered to the end customer tomorrow. He'll normally be based in and around West Yorkshire but this is a long haul - Leeds to Eastbourne and back again in the same day. Supposedly a one-off rush job. 🤔 We'll see.
Have a good Sunday, I hope all goes as planned for everyone. Take care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6 -

According to the weather forecast it's supposed to be cloudy all day but for a lovely change it's blue sky and sun all the way so far!
Very wise re new lady friend @mehefin
DH took the big dog out for a long walk this morning so he is snoring, menagerie has been fed and watered and I've been trimming the jasmine in the garden. Now for coffee.
Home tonight
Have a good day all x

Just checking in here though I have been reading along.
My head is still working overtime, mainly about DMs health issues (and some she might be ignoring!). However she (and DF) are away for a week with friends so there's nothing I can do about it this week. I've a mahoosive list of things to do while I'm able to just plod on my own. Yesterday one bathroom got a deep clean - lovely weather for washing bath mats and shower curtains.
I'm about to swop some things about in the loft and then will put another load of washing on. What it is about sunny Spring weather that makes me want to wash everything!
Take care all - enjoy the sun

Good morning
Chilly start but the suns coming out now. In between watching the London marathon I've changed the bedding, (my most hated job of all). Good drying day so will get the wm going and put it on the line.
Roast beef for dinner, already cooked and in the freezer, so nice and easy.
Have a good day all, take care.
