All as it should be. What bothers the OP is that he has been paying more tax in 25/6 because his tax code is collecting an amount of unpaid tax for a previous tax year. That is not something which would be reflected in the 24/5 tax return. So when that return says you owe £X he says but I have been paying £X in 25/6 already so you are taxing me twice.

Is that what he's asking? I got the impression he's talking about having already paid tax for 24/25 in PAYE that SA is asking for the same money. I don't see where he's mentioned 25/26.

With HMRC ordering so many tax payers to move to SA as a result of having over 10k of interest on savings (240k in the bank) one would think they had a much slicker way of doing it.

In his opening post he mentions his tax code has been adjusted "last/this year". I assumed he meant for 25/6 (and 26/7).

Thanks all. Yes, as my tax code for 25/26 was updated several times during the tax year and I am now on tax code "K", I am wondering if that's a result what I owed for 24/25 based on HMRC's estimation and, by paying this SA, I am worried that I will be paying twice.
