Hot water bottle alternatives

I need a hot water bottle for health problems but they leak sooner or later and are a pain - what alternatives can people suggest?

Not sure what the problem is with the hot water bottle but try googling microwave heat pads and perhaps they might suit you.

Hot water bottles do have a shelf life. They are supposed to be replaced yearly at a minimum.

Personally I love a hot water bottle, I have one for the cooler months, most nights from October to April and then it gets binned.

Would heat pads be an alternative? The ones full of wheat that you heat in the microwave?

I had a hot stone massage, was very surprised when the stones were lifted out of a slow cooker, not sure if that's an another alternative?

Try a Fashy hot water bottle. I've only needed 2 in 10yrs. A lucky find. It's an ethical firm too

And I only needed the second because the seal around the stopper was worn with use. I'd had a health problem so it was filled twice a day and lain on for a lot of the time.

Don't use boiling water , can still be hot.

They do all sorts of types. I noticed they do one that lays round your shoulders. I might indulge because I get very tense sometimes and that might help

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

you can get microwave hot water bottles below is an example of one, Amazon, Tesco, Dunelm etc all sell them. One of the local charities were giving them away this winter as part of energy checks for elderly etc

I have a bag filled with lavender that you microwave that works well.

I also have a belt, unsure what it's filled with, bought from Tk max that again you microwave. This is good because it fastens with Velcro and you can move around with it on.

depends how hot you need it to be. I occasionally use a hot water bottle to ease back pain. Tried a microwaveable heat and no way did it help, definitely more warm than hot.

Not for me personally, but electric blankets could be an alternative.

Sooner or later they leak and cause problems

Maybe, but one of mine is getting on for 20 years old and hasn't leaked yet. I've bought a couple more in that time (for my kids to use) and they haven't leaked either.

You can sometimes find old stoneware hot water bottles in antique shops but they also have rubber washers around stopper which will detiorate over time.

The main downside is that they are heavy and unwielding fine for warming u a bed but not so good for relaxing on sofa
