In my reply to the latest letter from MCS, should I mention anything about being self employed and any legal action could have a negative affect on my household income?

Or just keep things as simple as possible?

The rule is usually to tell your creditors as little as possible, so think seriously about giving them too much information.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Thanks for that bud. I made the mistake of asking ChatGPT which suggested I outline in detail every aspect of my situation which made me come on here instead as I felt uneasy about revealing so much information.

I really am happy to pay something towards these debts but at this moment in time, and with every household cost/bill seemingly rising beyond any normality, it just is not possible right now.

I just don't know how long from a mental health point of view that I can continue this juggling act….

    It's VERY tiring….

So getting a CCJ would adversely affect you? Do not give your creditors ammunition with which to batter yourself.

Nicely put! So I am well within my rights to refuse the recent request by MCS to seek advice considering I am fully aware of my financial position and seeking the advice they have requested I do, will not serve any purpose whatsoever. Could they use my refusal to seek advice against me here?

There is nothing that the likes of CAB etc etc can do for me other than to send out letters on my behalf which is exactly what I've been doing myself all along.

Nothing to stop you seeking advice. It might well support your purposes, although it might also be a bit of a waste of CAB or Stepchange resources?
