I've been on mse for a long time. There is no tone in these responses, only the genuine and caring members of this community, giving advice as they have done for years - day in day out - sometimes with no thanks at all.
In my experience, of being a reader more than a commenter, your above response is always because you haven't had the sugar coated version. To quote the meme - ain't nobody got no time for that.
I sometimes wonder how they continue, giving their help and advice when they get responses like yours.

Due to debilitating health issue…If no one had any positive stories of compassionate financial organisations like our main bank writing off our small overdraft as settled without credit impact, then wouldn’t it have been easier just to scroll on past?
if someone knows from experience that most lenders do not clear a credit record in this situation, wouldn't you rather know? .1
