Welcome to the UK I suppose…
I was just thinking on reading this comment, that surely these kind of drawn out inefficient processes must also happen in other countries. Then by coincidence I clicked on a thread written by a British ex pat living in Spain, who made this comment.
dealing with Spanish bureaucracy is impossible.

Rather a sweeping statement I must admit, but it seems to me that stuff the OP and myself are far from chuffed about is endemic in the UK. Maybe my rose-tinted specs, but I don't recall this sort of thing being so inefficient, and with such inefficiencies being considered as normal by so many folk. I guess it depends on a person's definition of inefficient, but for me 10 months to resolve a fundamental task which WTW must do on a regular basis is far from being well organized.
As for other countries, Spain is indeed hugely bureaucratic - as is Italy and to an extent France, but having worked in many different countries over the years, I think I can safely say that the UK does appear to have an increasing issue with service delivery - not only in pension administration.
