Capitol Resolve
Hi there
I have had a letter from Capital Resolve stating that I owe Ovo Energy a considerable amount of money. I have never been with Ovo energy and have never had a bill from them or anyone else. I have never willingly not paid any energy bill and am not aware of any outstanding payments. I have sent a letter to both Capital resolve and Ovo energy asking to put the debt collecting on hold and trying to find out where the address the energy is for. I have rented in the past for 2 and 3 years but have never not paid or received a single outstanding bill. I have even received by bond back of both rentals. I have also given them a forwarding address and kept in contact with my previous neighbours . Capitol resolve in my letter have given me 28 days but I am hoping that is on hold after my letter . I have had no response from Capitol or Ovo after 3 weeks during which I have sent 2 letters asking for the evidence of outstanding debt in writing but I have not received anything . I don’t want to start calling them as they will have my number and may start harrassing me. I want to get this sorted as it is affecting my life. What can I do if they are not answering my letters.

Was it this letter you sent them?
Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter — MoneySavingExpert Forum
Don't panic, they are not just going to slap a CCJ on you it doesn't work like that, it is a pain but just see what they come back with.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Capital Resolve are just acting on behalf of OVO, so they are powerless to do anything except chase the debt.
One reason why they won`t be interested in your dispute, oh, and there ridicules timeframe is just as meaningless, designed to panic you into doing something silly, so ignore that as well.
Did you mark your letter "compliant"? if not send it again as a complaint, to OVO, ignore the debt collector.
You should also take advice from the energy ombudsman, they can be found here:
