It seems odd that the loan amount was reduced. All lenders have affordability calculators so unless there was a surprise somewhere, the loan amount should never really be reduced.
From memory I think you have spoken to a few brokers. If they are all struggling then you quite possibly are a little beyond what is possible.
Have you looked at maxing out the term, choosing a 5 year fixed rate, maybe doing part interest only if that is an option to help affordability? £8k is a lot, but it cant be failing affordability by much.

Good evening. The problem was fluctuating Universal credit payments. We both work but get something most months not every month. It was the 2nd broker that used aria Finance who then applied to Mansfield who took 4 weeks to come back with decision.
