Okay thanks @ManyWays. So does this mean that we will need to stay in the house we're in now until all of the debt is cleared?

Also, Moorcroft have been in touch after we sent an email letting them know how much we will be paying each month. They have sent a letter saying they accept the amount we have proposed but want us to complete their financial details form. Do we have to do this?

No you don't have to complete their form and if you do it doesn't have to be accurate, you can work it out to get to the amount you are going to pay even if it isn't.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Thanks. To be honest I'm so overwhelmed at the moment, not just finances but life in general, I think more admin stuff would tip me over the edge! If I don't have to do it I'll leave it and hope they let it go! They have said they will agree to the payment amount.

AIC on the other hand have emailed asking me to call them as they cannot set up payments via email and want to speak on the phone because the amount we have offered has not been agreed. What do I do?

Kitty I know this is easy to say and not as easy to do but you must change your mindset. This is only money and you must realize you are in control not your creditors. You decide what you can afford to pay and that is after the debt has defaulted and you are happy that the debt is valid and you were not subject to unaffordable lending by the creditor.

Do not worry about any calls, texts or E Mails you receive, we suggest blocking numbers, anything important will have to be sent by snail mail so do open any letters.

Nothing moves fast in debt collecting there is no point in worrying about it just let things happen as long as you are happy with what is happening.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Okay thank you. I feel like I'm in charge and then as soon as I get a letter I panic! I know i need to stop

So, I'm going to submit affordability complaints, it's worth a try right?

And the AIC email, do I ignore this for now until I hear back on the affordability complaints?

I have requested a report to see what stage some of the debts are at as I don't have default letters for some, just the letter asking us to pay it off completely, then a letter from debt collection agency saying they're working on behalf of the credit card company. So I'm ignoring these for now.

You have nothing to lose by submitting affordability complaints but be prepared for them to be refused, most are but it isn't the end of the road. When you do it come back when you get your refusal and we will tell you what to do next .
