MAS 5 (Mortgage Agency Service
After 16 years with this company charging me 7.6% interest‑only, I was stuck and couldn’t change my mortgage because of my circumstances. After COVID, they even pushed my rate to nearly 9%.
Finally, the day has come, I’m out of this company. I’ve moved to a new lender with a capital‑and‑interest mortgage, and I’m now saving a lot of money.

Is there a reason it took 16 years?
I did some work with a group set up to try and force some movement from MAS. We found that there were people who thought they were mortgage prisoners actually were not.
I found there were people who could moved away from MAS, they maybe did not have the pick of lenders but they had options.
