Hi,

I was wondering has anyone previously remortgaged to Nationwide using their free legal service - Aberdein Considine?

On the legal service package sent it mentions potential additional costs not included within the free service and they will contact me before these may be charged, if applicable to my remortgage. I am now worried they may add additional charges and it would have been cheaper to pick my previous solicitors to handle the remortgage who originally quoted higher than the £500 Nationwide cash back that was offered instead.

It’s a standard new build built back in 2022 with no changes to the land or the property based in Scotland.

Read the T&Cs. Some of them have a tick box which people just tick and it adds £100-200 to secure the land registry entry or something.

Its not uncommon for them to try and add fees.

We tend to do the cashback and choose some firms to do it for £250-299 and if it does go up, clients are still quids in.

Keep an eye on it. But its unlikely to mount up to hundreds so long as check what your signing up for.
