Driving licence

Hello I have a question in your experience maybe you can help me please I have driving licence for 20 years my first name one letter missing and my name on passport is correct, for example in my passport first name Dave but my driving licence is dav how do I contact my name on my driving licence? If I contact to DVLA does take my driving licence or should be ok thanks for your help

    You should probably have corrected this 20 years ago but anyways..

    https://www.gov.uk/change-name-driving-licence

    You can quote your passport number (if it's a UK passport) and that will verify your change.

    If you are still using a paper licence then that will be replaced with a photocard.

    You have to send your old licence with the form but you can continue to drive.

    No cost.

    Thank you really appreciate for your advice. I know I should do it ages ago but I never bothered me because my last name and date of birth all correct and thanks for God never have any point my licence always clean . But some people say DVLA take your licence because that error.

    Cancel your licence? Nah.

    It's no different from changing from Terry to Terence (or Dave to David). As long as you have supporting documents (like a passport) to show your "official" name.
