Morning @Gers Morning all
Cooler and cloudier today. Warm weather was nice while it lasted!
Well the boiler is sorted and it's nice to have hot water in the taps now.
I slept through it but DH tells me our burglar alarm is broken as at 2am this morning it went off because, apparently, the battery had died. We've had this alarm for a long time and it's done it's job over the years but we now have a camera system with an app on the phone so it's going to be put on the scrapheap. I hope this is the end of our bad luck for a while!
Off out food shopping later and nothing else planned.
Have a good day all x

It's a colder start today, looks bright enough despite the overnight rain. Hope it warms up a bit more.
Didn't do much yesterday, although to my shame I forgot all about meeting an acquaintance for coffee until she sent me a text. 😥We've rearranged for next Tuesday so I've written it in big letter on my chalkboard! Since I stopped working I haven't used it but think it's now necessary again.
The wee tart was delicious, I'm glad that I bought two so will enjoy it again today. I added in some new potatoes and a little salad. I usually have a portion of veggies about an hour before hand as they don't always go with lunch.
This morning I have a return to get to the delivery office. Another pair of trousers with too much material around where the legs meet the body, maybe I've developed a weird shape when losing weight. Just odd, anyway, back they go. After that, who knows.
Happy new hot water @Chrisca50. How are you feeling @silver-oldie?
I presume that @dp1 has already left for her flight, so am sending virtual happy holiday to her.
Hugs to all, especially poorlies and those who are sad.

Good morning, thanks for starting us Gers.
Sunny but chilly here. We had heavy rain last night, just after DH got in from walking big dog.
I cleaned out the under sink cleaning cupboard yesterday. Was ruthless, but there still seems to be a lot in there. I think this nice sunny weather is encouraging me to declutter. Just need to get DH on board now to declutter his useful things (aka junk).
The other half of the pie for tea tonight, with chips for himself and veg for me.
Nothing else to report, have a good day all.

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off.
Not a lot happening here, a day of same old same old, unless something exciting happens. So as it stands it's the Friday Tidy and some washing. The light wash is already in and chugging away, to be followed by a small dark wash. I think there is still room in the dw so that will go after lunch. Dinner yet to be decided on, I'll have a rummage in the freezer and see what appeals. Maybe fish.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting the thread x
We are packing up our belongings ready for the long drive home. Have decided to stop in Cumbria somewhere for the first changeover. Then somewhere north of Birmingham. Reckon we’ll be home for midnight all being well.
Have a good day all

Morning all, a bit of sun peeping through here, chilly though. Thanks Gers, the tarts sound tasty.
Have a lovely time @dp1 , envious, I love Corfu too.
I seemed to spend a lot of time on the phone yesterday, first my closest cousin about the eldest one. Then went shopping and browsing and bumped into the youngest, and once I got home spoke to a friend. I picked up a few plants to add a bit of spring colour so I'll try and get them in today. Rang my DB 1 as it was his birthday.
DGS is due back from his hols on the coast of E. Yorks today, I think they're dropping him off here & we'll take him over once his dad finishes work.
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all, thanks @Gers. Nowadays my gardening tends to be of the "pottering" variety (no heavy stuff like digging) to keep everything tidy and dealing with the hydrangea bush fits nicely into that category. I do like the 5 D's advice! 👍️
It's a brighter start this morning after a chilly night and set to be a day of sunny intervals until evening when showers are forecast. Some tree pollen levels are going to be high, not good for hay fever sufferers which thankfully I'm not. Temperatures around 12 deg.
The shelf in the under stairs cupboard is back up, thanks to DS, although it did take longer than expected as the cupboard contents had to come out to give him room to work. However, that did give me the opportunity to have yet another trawl through it all and get rid of a couple of bits and pieces before putting it back again. By the time he'd finished, the rain had arrived so tidying up the grass edging around the patio didn't happen - never mind, maybe today or over the weekend.
On the job front, he hasn't heard anything back from the first interview he went for; he didn't get the second one (disappointing, as that's the one he really wanted) but has been accepted for the third one. The only drawback is that he'll be classed as self employed so will be giving it careful consideration before saying yay or nay. There are still two more interviews in the pipeline as well.
Today's jobs - usual Friday admin, bedding change due, shopping list for delivery to compile and the hall floor needs a sweep/mop. Good job it's an easy tea of bung-it-in-the-oven tempura battered fish with chunky oven chips! 😁
@Chrisca - Enjoy the hot water!
@remmie - I recognise that useful things/aka junk syndrome all too well! 😅
@Coxy - Safe drive home.
Right, time to crack on so I'll wish everyone a good day, healing thoughts for the poorly ones and hugs where needed. Take care all. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
