Morning all.

It's very murky outside, not as lovely as the past couple of days. My gardener came yesterday whilst I was in Glasgow, she's cleared out the debris of last years' flowering.
Resting today. Hope all are well.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. How was the posh nosh yesterday?
It's already a different day to yesterday so living up to the promise of temps dropping quite a lot. I made a start tidying the back garden up yesterday but it was too warm and it wasn't long before the garden seat was calling! It seemed a shame to waste the long awaited warm sunshine toiling so there I stayed! So the garden doesn't look that much better.
Lunch with DF today already cancelled. Her DH's fault this time with his stress limits sky high. But I still need to go down into town anyway as I have my shipping order of meds to pick up. I'll get some hair colour whilst down as the white roots are taking over again. I usually have a box in reserve but this time I haven't.
Have a good day if you can folks with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. SO that must have been a nasty tumble and the after effects take longer to mend when we are older. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Another lovely day on the cards, will enjoy it while we can.
Expecting boiler man sometime after 8am so will do a bit of housework in between wherever he will be in the house or I might just not bother and leave it for another day!
Hope everyone has a good day x

@TravellingAbuela - the posh nosh was tasty if tiny! Menu was sort of tapas style with the price of full plates 😂 We are all surprised when the food came out though didn't order more. There wasn't really anything else we wanted, and nothing on the pudding menu was tempting either. Lovely venue, strange food, great company. Lionel's niece has booked it for the celebration next month, luckily it'll be buffet finger food
My drive home was spoiled by the utter nightmare of every route out of Glasgow going my was completely jammed by roadworks. It took me over an hour to go about a mile even with a detour which every other local knew about. Seems that there are roadworks on every road, each one causing chaos. Once at Balloch the drive was smoother and trouble free apart from small works which didn't disrupt travel. After my long slow trek I was worn out, had a hot drink and was in bed watching TV by seven
Today is a day of rest and recuperation. 😁 Rain is stopping any plans of walking. Hugs to our poorlies xx

Good morning
The suns still shining here, although it feels a bit chillier.
After catching up with Sort your life out I got the urge to tidy the drawer of doom in the kitchen. Two unopened packs of freezer bags found, and a bag full of rubbish disposed of. Did I really think that I'd reuse those washed out bags?
Dinner wasn't chicken wrapped in bacon, but chicken wrapped in ham. I must do better at labelling things in the freezer. Tonight will be steak and kidney pie, well it will be when I make it.
Have a good day all, hugs to all who need them. Take care.

Morning all, gloomy today and cooler just as predicted. Thanks Gers, sorry about the roadworks, they seem to be everywhere round here.
I'm off to do some shopping at the retail park, not had an online delivery this week.
Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all
Lovely day here again - yesterday was glorious we sat out in the garden in the evening for a while. WM is on so washing can be hung out after.
I am going to meet a potential new client this morning an 18 year old girl with additional needs, they sound nice but we will see, I am much more cautious now.
Dinner tonight will be jacket potatoes with ham cheese and salad, OH and dd will have beans as well. We might eat in the garden if it’s nice.
Dogs to be walked later and then apply for some more jobs.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone
I'm having my breakfast with my cat complaining loudly because I'm not letting her outside…the cattery lady is picking her up about 10. I'm going to Corfu very early tomorrow morning, eldest DD will meet me there…I've never been so ready for a holiday.
I'm going over to have a cuppa with my friend this morning, then I'll go down to visit mam and dad after lunch. Then to Newcastle to stay at the airport tonight.
Little one and I had a lovely day out yesterday, the Gabbys Dolls House show was really good if you were 7 and under, I enjoyed watching her enjoy it. We went for lunch at a Slug and Lettuce, the food was lovely but the service was terrible, so slow though there were only 2 young lads on and the place was heaving. After waiting 45 minutes I said she had a medical condition and needed to eat before her blood sugars dropped too low. Our food came quickly then…little one was saying I'm not low granny…no but I was starving!
Right, best move, I have a couple of things to iron …we went to TK Maxx for a quick look!
See you all in a week x

Morning all, thanks @Gers - shame the roadworks on the way home spoiled your outing.
After a glorious day's weather yesterday, it's back to changeable again. Cloudy with a gentle breeze this morning, rain with light winds possible by midday, then sunny intervals for the rest of the day. Obviously not as warm but at least mild.
I was out trimming my hydrangea bush yesterday and, as well as cutting off last year's flower heads, I pruned out a lot of dead wood and crossed branches. It took much longer than I expected but it now looks presentable and I can see this year's buds are already forming. While I was doing that DS wielded the weed zapper in various places and then we sat out in the sun until tea time. My daffodils have finished flowering now but I'll leave the foliage on for a while longer before chopping that down.
Somehow, one of the shelves in my under-stairs cupboard decided to fall down - all by itself (probably overloaded 🙄 ) - so DS will be fixing that for me today and then, provided the rain holds off, will edge the grass around the patio. Tonight's tea is a lamb & barley hotpot, already cooked so just to heat up.
@Chrisca - Hope the boiler man turned up!
@Ruby - Good luck with the job hunt and yes, please be cautious.
@dp1 - Have a lovely holiday in Corfu, well deserved.
Have a good day all, take care. Hugs where needed. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Fingers crossed for the new client @RedRuby1231
Happy holiday @dp1
Great gardening @YorksLass a neighbour told me about the five D's for pruning:
- Dead: Branches that are brittle, brown, or dry and have no living tissue.
- Dying: Branches with sparse foliage, yellowing leaves, or weak growth that are on the verge of dying.
- Diseased: Wood showing signs of fungus, cankers, or discolouration to prevent pathogens from spreading.
- Damaged: Branches broken by wind, weight, or ice, which can leave the plant vulnerable
- Diagonal: those which are crossed
- 😀
- I've got a very tasty wee goats cheese and caramelised tart for lunch, I bought it in the small Italian cafe which I used to go to regularly during lockdown and now occasionally when in Glasgow. It's family run business which deserves to be kept going.
