Urgent Advice needed - private pension 25/26 deadline
I paid into my husband's pension to keep him under £100K, unfortunately he has been paid earlier than expected in April so it's now taken him over £100K. If I make an additional payment into his pension today, will it still count for 25/26? When I paid into his pension last month they said payments had to be received by 20th March, so not sure if we now just have to accept paying the higher tax rate on his last pay.

Depends who the pension provider is and how you pay. ii had a thing saying if you paid by debit card then you could contribute up to 11.59 pm today but if by bank transfer then it had to be by 31 March.
If the pension is not with ii and doesn't have a date later than 20 March for contributions by debit card I do not know if it would be possible to set one up with ii today and contribute to it today.

Sorry just checked and it is 11.30 pm for contributions. 11.00 pm for applications (assuming everything runs smoothly)

How much over £100k is he?
Have you calculated his ANI?
If he can't make a pension contribution, he could make a Gift Aid donation.
Is the concern loss of Personal Allowance, or is child care also a concern?

He'll be 8.5K over. TBH there is no concern other than his pension is very low so we need to boost it now we're in a position to do so, so I wanted to pay into his pension rather than pay the tax man.
Why pay more if you can pay less!! :j:j:j1 -
If the objective is to increase pension fund size, you might as well make the contribution today and see how that presents on statements.
If it shows this tax year, a win.
If it shows next tax year, you still have the increased pension fund size.
I assume that Annual Allowance / Carry Forward is not a constraint in either tax year.
