Inherent annual incorrect reporting of State Pension by DWP to HMRC

According to my NI No which ends in 41 I should be paid on a Wednesday not a Friday. Just to point out that everything does not always happen as their instructions insist.

You reached SPA before 6th April 2010 I believe so that system doesn’t apply to you. Apparently you are either paid weekly in advance on a Monday or 4 weekly in arrears on a Friday. For state pension increase purposes you are still treated as if you’re paid weekly in advance so your increase would be paid on the 10th April this year as you said.

This also means that your tax code uses 52 weeks this year and is what would be correct tax wise as Dazed and Confused said earlier.

One government department notifies another government department of what it pays in pensions, and gets it wrong for everyone. But it's OK because rather than fixing the issue at source, every affected individual is told to manually correct the figure on their tax return.

Except when they decide that they will do it by simple assessment not self assessment & you have to actually contact them as they will not allow you to file self assessment. One year it was actually cheaper to allow them to tax me than to pay for the phone call.
