Im 4 weeks away from SSP running out and going on half pay, I have applied for new style ESA which hopefully I should start getting when SSP runs out as I applied early. If I’m dismissed on capability due to ill health, work said I’m entitled to 12 weeks statutory full pay for notice period.
My contact says PILON is at works discretion, does that mean I have to accept that if they choose this option? if I didn’t have to do this option and and served out my 12 weeks statutory notice on full pay (whilst still off sick) then I would still get the pension contributions.
And if I’m on 12 weeks notice period on sick leave still (still getting fit notes to cover this period) what happens to my new style ESA payments, do they continue as SSP ran out, or are they stopped during notice period, and if they are stopped does that mean I have to go through whole application process again, or would they just be paused until notice period ends?
