Pinch, punch - first of the month. Good morning all

My early morning drive yesterday was very pleasant, not much traffic and no hold ups. 😁 Went first to Marks to collect a couple of orders and then for the CT scan. I arrived early and was luckily seen almost immediately. Under half an hour later I was done.
The Morse play last night, House of Ghosts, was excellent. There was a small cast, Tom Chambers playing Morse, great production and pared down sets which were changed so smoothly. There's a delightful wee nod to Strictly at the end, I thoroughly enjoyed it, well worth the drive.
After breakfast and a maybe mooch around shops I'm off to Alan's. His partner turned 60 yesterday so there's a small group of six going to a Michelin starred restaurant for dinner tonight. I'm so looking forward to to it.
Take care everyone. Don't fall for any pranks! Hugs to all.

Enjoy your Michelin meal @Gers
Boiler man came yesterday and found we have a gas leak in one of the pipes so he has capped our boiler! Not happy although the alternative could have been worse. Hopefully we'll hear today when someone is coming to sort it out.
A bit of housework, a delivery to keep an ear out for, washing to put out on the line and a visit from a boiler man hopefully.
Have a good day all x

Thanks for the start Gers, glad your appointment was quick and you enjoyed the play. Hoping you have a lovely meal tonight.
It's dry here for now but seems to be getting darker by the minute!
Oh dear Chrisca, hope you can get that leak fixed quickly.
Still struggling on with this cold, I was going to visit friends up north this weekend but think I will cancel, don't want to pass anything on and not sure I'm really up for the drive anyway.
What a shame Ruby, wonder if O's Mum has done this before.
Hope everyone is well. Take care. XX

Morning, thanks Gers, glad you enjoyed your evening, and hope tonight goes well - sounds tasty!
Good thing the boiler man picked up on the gas leak Chrisca, hope it's sorted as soon as possible.
I feel a bit groggy after 3 bad nights in a row, I'm fed up with it.
There's nothing major planned for today, thankfully.
Hope everyone is all right, sorry to read yesterday that your cold had come back Camelot, miserable isn't it, these things do drag on sometimes.
Take care folks, whatever you're doing.

Morning fellow early birds and thanks GERS for kicking off. Enjoy your posh meal tonight. Nom nom!
This morning is fine and wind free is the best I can say. Yesterday wasn't the mild day we expected. It was still nippy in the wind. Lunch with DF was enjoyed and much catching up was done, as well as putting the world to rights. We expected our venue to be busy, being school holidays, but it was quieter than normal. I suspect people are now watching the pennies with all the increases. No bus trip today as my bus buddy had an op on her leg yesterday, followed by a skin graft, so I expect her out of action now until it heals. I had just got home yesterday when DD called with Easter gifts - daffs, a Galaxy egg and reed diffuser. She was on her way to the caravan with youngest DGD. She collected my Easter stuff for the girls and her birthday present which is while they are away. Eeek she will be 53! I'm waiting until it gets a bit warmer before I stay there.
So no excuses to avoid housework today. I have so many jobs earmarked I don't know where to begin! The window frames are on a promise to be cleaned but that may well be a stop start job. Age has sapped my energy levels.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Thoughts with RUBY after last week's upset. Happy holiday to you tripping away imminently and good luck for tomorrow REMMIE. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day here but still cold, I am off to mums today to work as we travelled back Monday so I didn’t work then, she wants to go shopping so we might go to Sainsbugs and get some of the lamb on offer.
I really dont know where to start with O’s mum - from the start I have been seeing red flags but thought I would give it a chance, she has fallen out with all of her neighbours and none of her family will talk to her, two supermarkets won’t deliver to her as she was abusive to the drivers, she has been through hundreds of carers and I now know why. I took O out last Thursday we walked to the next village and watched the trains for a while ( he loves trains) then we went into a shop and bought us a sandwich each, he chose a bacon sandwich which he ate and really enjoyed, we then went home and she asked what he had eaten so I told her and she hit the roof, she was ranting and raving and screaming the place down at O saying he is not allowed bacon ( she had not told me this) she raved on for a good ten minutes and he looked terrified, she then went outside for a while and O kept looking at me really scared and kept looking at the door she had gone out, she came back in and started again, I stepped in at this point and told her that I was unaware that he couldn’t eat bacon and maybe is she had explained the mistake wouldn’t have happened, but as O was a grown man with full capacity how could I tell him what he can and can’t eat.
She then started on me screaming at me as if I were a naughty child for ten minutes until I left, but before all this happened she told me she takes away O’s eye gaze machine (which he uses to communicate) if he is naughty, and that the night before she turned his wheelchair off when he got cross so he couldn’t even move out of the room, she also left him hoisted up in mid air for 20 minites because he got angry at her, you must never leave someone mid hoist as it’s quite dangerous. She also smokes dodgy cigarettes 👀 all day long and starts drinking every day about lunch time, she is p****d most of the time, he also had a deep red scratch down his face when I arrived Thursday.
I put my invoice in as usual the next day and she is refusing to pay me for work already completed, so I had to involve WSCC to ask them to chase my money, and they asked for some background information so I told them what had happened, they asked me to put in an urgent safeguarding report, apparently his case is already at the highest level it can go to in the system and the next stage is taking her to court to try and remove him from her ‘care’. I must have had 30 emails from her over the weekend all ranting and raving at me, she put a real downer on the weekend.
She is verbally physically mentally and financially abusing O, so there will be a big investigation into the whole thing, she gets £80 carers allowance each week but buys at least 8 bottles of champagne a week and her dodgy cigarettes which both cost a lot more than what she gets. I was never allowed to wash his hair as she doesn’t believe in hair washing, his sheets were never changed in the 3 months I was there and his towels were filthy, the house was also very dirty, I was going to help her with all of this as time went on but never got the chance, there has been a hole in the roof for years which she has a bucket under to catch the drips, the oven has not worked for 10 years and is full of spiders and cobwebs.
There is so much more that I could tell you, she also emailed me over the weekend to say thank you to me for offering to work my notice ( I didn’t ) so she will have been expecting me this morning, I have an email ready to send to her which I have copied the duty sw into stating that I will not be back as I don’t feel safe, and that she has already broken the contract by withholding my payment, which the council pay O for his care each month.
She has been through hundreds of carers and always moaned to me how useless they all were, she raved about the care I gave O and often said they were lucky to have me, the woman has severe problems and I am glad to be out of there!
Sorry that was so long but I wanted to give a good explanation of what has been happening.
Have good days all and take care xx

Camelot hope you start to feel better soon.
Chris its a good job they found the leak, hope the boiler is sorted soon.
Remmie hope all goes well tomorrow and DH is more helpful.
Its 50 years today since I lost my Dmum, I lost Ddad 4 years ago tomorrow. As others have said time seems to fly by.
Im really hoping bathroom will be finished this week, its mainly plumbing to do now. DF is letting us use their shower so will pop over later.

Morning all (white rabbits) and thanks for the start @Gers - glad your scan was quick and that you enjoyed the show. Have a lovely time later with Alan and friends x
@RedRuby1231 that's so awful for O (and you). I'm so glad you have raised this issue with the authorities. Let's hope O is moved to a safe environment pdq. Sorry you've had to go through this x
@Chrisca50 that's scary - glad someone spotted the issue quickly! x
I have some work today then am planning an early night as we leave for Fort William at 4am tomorrow. We only have to pack our wash kits and some tea/coffee to take with us. Very excited to revisit some of the West Highland Way and hope the predicted weather doesn't affect us too much. Dinner is lasagne with tenderstem broccoli - yum.
Have a good day all
