Need advice: Setting aside a CCJ with "No Objection" from Claimant (Moriarty Law) – DIY or hire a so

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some quick advice on a CCJ removal.

The Situation:

Claimant: Moriarty Law.

Debt: £428.34.

The Issue: A CCJ was issued in Dec 2024. I was never served because I was homeless/sofa-surfing at the time (I have Deliveroo GPS logs and messages from my host proving my actual residence in a different postcode during that time).

Current Status: I contacted Moriarty Law. They sent an email stating: "We confirm we will have no objections to a Set Aside application once the debt is paid in full."

The Timing: I get paid at the end of April (30th). Moriarty gave me a 27-day hold (until April 26th).

The Fees: I have a Help with Fees (HWF) code from the court already.

My Dilemma:

I am debating between two options:

1. DIY (N244): Filing the N244 myself "without a hearing" for £0 (using HWF code), attaching the "No Objection" email from Moriarty and my residency proof.

2. Hire a Solicitor: I’ve been quoted £299 for a "CCJ Removal Service." They say they will handle the mediation and drafting of a Consent Order. They want me to pay the debt in full before they apply.

My Questions:

1. Since I already have the "No Objection" in writing from the Claimant's solicitors, is there any benefit to paying £299 for a solicitor?

2. If I do it DIY, will the Judge reject it because I haven't paid the debt yet (but have promised to pay on April 30th)?

3. Is it safer to pay a solicitor to ensure the CCJ is removed (Set Aside) rather than just marked as "Satisfied"?

I'm currently in a vulnerable financial position, so £300 is a lot of money to me, but I really need this off my credit file so I can rent a flat.

Thanks in advance!
