Grim isn’t it @Gers ? I’m taking Mum shopping at 10am and we didn’t get into bed until 2am (really 1am) as we were out, so I’m shattered.
I have a couple of Vinted parcels to post on the way home then I’m having a no bones day just pottering here.
Will cook a roast chicken and do some ironing in front of the TV.Have a good day all

Lovely box of posh chocolates ,what a treat
This morning bright and sunny but heavy frost now clearing ,looks as though the wind has dropped .
Definitely a tidying day and will try and put two plants into pots
Stay safe all

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I had to double check the time on the bedroom clock with the time on my phone this morning. The clock is supposed to automatically change the time itself but it doesn't always comply so I put it forward myself when I went to bed just in case!
I have a bill to pay today that will bring tears to my eyes! It's for the annual caravan site fees (which go up every year) plus the gas and electric used over the last 12 months, which is a ridiculous amount.
There was a glorious red sky when I got up but that faded into grey and we have rain and gusty winds forecast. Maybe they will be wrong as they were yesterday when we didn't get any of the promised rain
I left some chicken defrosting last night for my lunch but I have yet to decide what it will manifest itself into. Decisions decisions.
Have a lovely day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. We haven't had an update from Dp1 for a few days, I hope that's a good sign. Take care all, be safe x

morning everyone thanks for the start Gers I won’t be doing a lot today except making the dinner I’ve had a disturbed night with the little dog she was just on the bed off the bed for no reason except to be a nuisance she’s snoring now . I had a surprise late birthday present off my youngest son yesterday apparently they were ordered over a month ago and they have just got delivered they bought me some barefoot trainers supposed to help with plantar fasciitis they got told off for spending so much money they take no notice he said when they had finished work the day before the young apprentice had to go and buy a birthday card for his grandma he said guess what his granny is the same age as you I couldn’t believe it I said but is she running around the room in barefoot trainers standing on one leg and touching her toes he said probably not I don’t think she will be that mad . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone
Sorry I haven't managed to get on for a few days, yes TA it was a good sign!
Mams' social worker rang just before she finished work on Wednesday to say her funding had been approved - such a relief ! I filled all the necessary paperwork on Thursday and then my brother and I took her down on Friday. Dad was so happy to see her and to show off his new chair, which had arrived just an hour earlier. She liked her room, I unpacked her clothes for her and put them all away.
I had a phone call yesterday lunchtime to say she'd tried to get out several times to go home and she'd told dad she was taking him home too. I went down and had to tell her that they were both staying in the care home and she will get used to it. Dad kept telling her that he likes it there, though the day before he was the one who wanted to leave. I'll see what their moods are when I go down this afternoon. This morning I'm going down to the house to get her some ornaments and bits to go in her room.
I am so relieved they are together and safe, thank you all for being so supportive.
I haven't read back yet, I'll save it till I have time.
Hope everyone has a good day, it's blowing a gale here x

Morning all
What lovely news @dp1 now they are together you can breathe a little sigh of relief. I'm sure your mum will settle in and be happy with being with your dad again soon enough
Nothing planned here. Bedding hung out, my shopping delivery put away and DS's shopping awaiting his arrival. Chinese chicken for dinner.
No sport to watch today so will have to put my technical head on again to find something to get onto the TV. Can't wait for the engineer to come and fix problem tomorrow and not have to go through such a palaver just to get something on the TV to watch!
Have a good day all x

What wonderful news @dp1 - you've been through a tough time and got the best result for your beloved parents. Yes, she'll be unsettled for a wee while though seeing her husband should help. Have a huge pat on the back!
@TravellingAbuela - these big bills do bring tears to eyes. I've had a month of it too so now it's belt tightening time.
Enjoy the chocolates @Suffolksue - well deserved.
What an atrocious night and morning we've had here, certainly amongst the top five dreadful nights this winter. The wind was howling and the rain the heaviest it's been this year. Earlier I couldn't see past five metres, now the horizon is back though the forecast is for more dreadful weather.
In contrast my family is enjoying 23c in the small town near Noosa. Mind, they had a really dreadful time getting there. Four flights, all delayed and with huge transit times before the plane from Dubai to Sydney was so late that they missed the final one to Brisbane so had to wait another two hours for the next one. They received lots of text alerts about missiles and what to do. Anyhow, they are safe and warm albeit it exhausted. Three brothers, one sister and assorted children and spouses all together for two weeks. Of course, I spent a lot of the night watching flight trackers and waiting for texts. And then the weather kept me awake longer. 😣
Only got my wristwatch and living room clock to change, everything else done.
The washing is almost dry upstairs, DW is chugging away - seems to be behaving itself again - and I have lunch sorted. The lasagna I took out of the freezer has a BB date of July 2023, shocker, but I ate a portion of it, turned out a bit dry so a pile of baked beans helped, luckily no nasty after effects.
The cafe is having another bakery morning, maybe this time with bread, so I'll wrap up and go off to get one. She baked all through COVID and then stopped, it'll be good to have it back even if only occasionally.
I hope that all are well, warm and dry! Take care. Hugs to all.

Morning all, thanks @Gers - these clock changes are a dratted nuisance, aren't they? 😐️ My bedroom clock is the only thing that doesn't update itself so, like @TA, I changed it myself before I went to bed last night to avoid any confusion.
We had some rain yesterday but not as much as expected. However, today could be a different kettle of fish as the forecast says heavy rain will be arriving within the next hour and hanging around for the best part of the day with light winds changing to strong winds and the 'feels like' temperature in single figures. 😕
All my crafting stuff is now in its new home and I'm ridiculously happy it's all in the one place! 😅 The only thing binned was some elastic that's no longer 'elastic'. SM delivery is due in about an hour's time, two subs (acceptable) and, once that's put away, I'll be in Sunday sloth mode. Dinner today is lamb & mint burgers, baby potatoes and sprouts, syrup sponge pudding for afters.
@dp1 - Fabulous news to hear your mam and dad are now in the same care home - well done, your persistence has paid off. It will be confusing for your mam at first but hopefully the addition of some of her personal stuff to her room will make her feel more settled. Your dad should be happier too now they're able to see each other every day.
@Gers - Glad to hear your family has finally arrived at their destination, that's some trek!
Have a good day everyone, hugs for anyone needing or wanting one. Take care, stay safe. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Good morning
Dp1, that really is the best news, well done for your persistence. Hope your parents will find more happiness together now.
Cloudy here and breezy. Yesterday was windy with showers in the afternoon. Usual chores today, DH will be watching the F1 highlights lunchtime. I've already seen the result, but I'm not that interested anyway.
Will be cooking a roast later, with roast beef. Making the most of them as when the weather warms up I won't be doing that.
Have a good day all, take care.

@dp1 that's really good news, and such a relief for you all. I hope they both settle when they have some of their own things around them.
