Morning Gers, Morning all
Cold but sunny here this morning and the wind is back to haunt us!
Still no tv here as new box was delivered but still can't connect to broadband. Engineer coming on Monday so hopefully sorted then.
2 things on the list today stripping and re-making the bed and then I found a recipe for peanut cookies so going to see what they're like.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning, thanks Gers.
It seems windy this morning, don't know about the temp - yesterday I said it wasn't cold, turned out it was!
I didn't buy any paint yesterday because dh thinks we've still got some from the last time, he was going look but forgot about it. It'll get done.
Despite the cold wind yesterday I cleaned the front door and downstairs windows and frames. The house faces North so can get battered with the weather in the winter, so it looked a lot better when I finished.
Not much on today.
Hope you have a nice weekend Ruby.
Thoughts to anyone who is sad or poorly. Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. The usual mixed bag of weather forecast for today. It's currently sunny but wind and showers not far away. DD and family are off to a wedding (her DP's bro) so not a very good day to be setting off in their fancy outfits. The wedding is in Harrogate, maybe it will be better there, or maybe not!
The usual Saturday for me with Sainsbobs beckoning at some point with DS. He's fresh from their jaunt to the Canaries and says the weather was better than expected and they managed to enjoy some warm sunshine. He says he has a big shopping list as DP's DS managed to eat them out of house and home in their absence.
Other than that not a lot is happening so probably an afternoon of sloth will follow. Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
My trip to Margate yesterday was all fine until the return journey. A trackside fire meant no trains London-bound so a replacement bus it was. I got as far as the next town and then walked about a mile to get away from the chaos, where DS2 met me bless him.
We had a lovely Chinese takeaway last night and there’s some left for whoever gets to it first today! DH is going up to the community allotment to continue work on the vineyard and then we are out with friends this evening.
I will potter here - bathrooms to clean and some laundry to do, plus some seed sowing. I sowed some cosmos last weekend and they are already up with their first leaves - so exciting!I’m food shopping tomorrow with Mum. We are off to the Highlands on Thursday so will just need enough for a short week.
Annoying about the TV @Chrisca50 ☹️
Hope the meet up went well @mehefin x
Hope you’re feeling better @camelot1001
Speaking of wooden pencil boxes @Gers I still have mine with my OLevel timetable on a piece of paper in the lid - very nostalgic.
Have a good day all

Good morning
Bright but chilly with showers forecast later. I managed to get everything done on my todo list yesterday, so will be twiddling my thumbs today. Looking for jobs to do, and wondering if defrosting the freezer is a step too far.
Ham and cheese toasties tonight, using up some ham bought the other day.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Sunshine and showers this morning, washing can stay inside, I'll save the bedding for tomorrow to see if it's better.
Sort of feeling better this morning after a brilliant night's sleep, just very blocked up. I was going to go to Glasgow with a pal today but we've decided with the unpredictable weather and my cold we'll not bother, it was only for a wander anyway.
Must do some shopping for fresh veggies and maybe visit the allotment if it doesn't rain too hard. The coal delivery chap decided it was too difficult to open the side gate and left the bags of coal on the path so I've been out in the rain to fill the bucket!
Hope you're having a good weekend Ruby.
Happy decorating Scarlet.
Where are you going in the Highlands Coxy?
Hope you're all well and have a good weekend. Take care. XX

The heavens have just opened and dropped sharp hail and now becoming rain, at the very moment I put a white washing load on. I had half hopes of getting the sheets and towels out on the line but that has been shattered already.
My family got away from Birmingham yesterday although delayed for about three hours. They arrived in Dubai and then spent nine hours in transit. They took off for Sydney half an hour ago and then have the final leg to Brisbane to come. After that Lawrence will be driving two hours up the coast to past Noosa. It's a horrid change to the schedule though he's just pleased that they weren't cancelled. Once they get there a good time will be had - after a long sleep!
I went out for a local paper, a cauliflower and coffee. Lunch was the last of the liver which I really enjoyed. Last night I took a large lasagna out of the freezer which will do me for three days until I go away. Later on I looked online for things to do in Toronto in June - no ice hockey! The season ends in April so I may have to make do with a visit to the ice hockey museum instead. 😅 I've booked a day trip to the Niagara Falls with a company which picks up and drops off at my hotel.
The consultant rang as arranged. He's now arranged another CT scan to see if the stone is still there. Problem is that it's Good Friday at 5.00pm so I'll have to phone on Monday to re-arrange that.
@Coxy11 - that's a great find, and an exam info to boot! I looked up the pencil box yesterday and went all gooey at it. Mind you, it didn't ever hold enough pencils for my real liking and I had an auxiliary one too. 😂
No plans for today, as always I'll wait to see what the gods drop in my lap. I hope that our poorlies are mending, broken hearts are healing and families are safe and together. Hugs to all.

@camelot1001 we are staying just outside Fort William and plan to walk Kinlochleven to FW on the WHW with the family, plus other sightseeing.
This is the pencil box and my scientific calculator from my maths olevel - I have never changed the battery and I’m now 56! Morning all, thanks @Gers for the thread start. It's another day of changeable weather here with a mixture of sunshine and showers, still breezy with occasional gusts and daytime temperatures feeling lower than actual.
Yesterday's admin session took longer than I thought it would and, as expected, there's very little wriggle room so I'll be in belt tightening mode - again. Or should that be - still? 🙄 I can't do anything about the rent, utilities etc (already as low as I can get them) so it's food and personal spends that will be taking the hit but I did remind myself I'm probably better off than some will be.
I didn't get around to doing the coming week's meal plan either so that's today's #1 job. I have a grocery delivery coming tomorrow and have treated us to a leg of lamb, half price Easter deal less a £5 survey reward voucher so roughly £10 - £12 depending on weight and it should make a fair few meals. Tonight's tea is far less spendy - YS flatbreads from the freezer for h/m pizzas that will also use up odds and sods from the fridge.
NDN popped round last night to let me know she's emptied the drawers that I'm taking off her hands and now, as well as the broken wrist after her tumble down the stairs, she's sporting two black eyes. Not a pretty sight at all. DS has gone to the barber's for a haircut and beard trim so he'll pick them up for me once he's back. I'll have a very satisfying afternoon filling them with my crafting stuff; it is organised but scattered around the house so it will be good to have it all in one place. I just love organising! 😀
@Chrisca - Sorry to hear you're still without a TV, fingers crossed the engineer can work his magic on Monday.
@camelot - Glad to hear you had a good night's sleep and are feeling a bit better this morning, but cross your coal was deposited on the path and left for you to deal with.
@Gers - Your family definitely will be pleased to reach their destination after all the alterations and delays to their plans! 😁 I hope you can have your appointment re-arranged without too much delay.
I hope everyone has a good weekend (remember the clocks go forward one hour). Take care all. X
