Adding a battery to existing solar.

Everyone who pointed out that boilers still need electricity, is obviously correct and I would not argue otherwise.
That section around "if it is a combi boiler you still get hot water" was poorly written ( editing error) as it was supposed to be associated with the comments about just a small battery storage system and associated inverter can easily supply that tiny amount of power or as JKenH wrote via other methods. That does not mean those at most risk should not consider taking risk reduction or mitigating action.
Hope that clarifies things.
Interestingly after I wrote the above post I heard storm Dave is heading our way and the prospect of amongst other things of electrical power outages for some areas.
