It's been a long week of mostly hanging about. My car wasn't ready until just before 4.30pm yesterday so rather than waste my prepaid hotel I decided to stay over. The cost of the new timing belt was eye—watering, just as well I got a tax rebate on Monday!
I've had breakfast, now I'm doing a bit of digesting before I hit the road, also waiting for the rush hour traffic here to thin out. Yesterday was so bright and sunny it's a shame that the weather has reverted to grey. It may well pick up.
Take care all, 🤞🤞 for @dp1 for some positive news. 💕

Morning folks and thanks GERS. You were an early bird this morning! We have a gloomy start this morning, not raining but a bit foggy. The sun is due to appear mid morning they say.
It's the last of my big birthday celebrations today, before normal service resumes next week. DD and I are meeting 2 Sis in laws and 2 nieces for lunch. It was one of the SIL's 70th a couple of weeks back so we are classing it as a joint birthday get together. My aim is to have a quick whizz round with duster and vac before I go as housework has been somewhat neglected lately!
Yesterday's appointment went well. All bloods fine and all medication doing what it's meant to do. There is nothing that can be done to help my mobility so I still just have to put up with it. Got home in time for the hairdresser and despite me saying just a light trim, not much off, more came off than I wanted and this morning it's stuck up on end!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. DP1 the care system these days is like walking through a minefield. What's so difficult about keeping your parents together. I hope something gets sorted soon. Take care all, be safe x

Morning All
Gers have a safe trip home, cars on here seem to be a money pit for us all just lately.
TA enjoy your extra celebration. I have a friend whose birthday celebrations always seem to last more than a week even when its not a spcial number.
DP1 keeping everything crossed for you and the family and sending hugs x
Yesterday morning had a text to say delivery of some bathroom bits would be delayed until today and that the plasterer would arrive shortly. Five minutes later door bell is going!!
Have certainly gone through lots of rolls, bacon and tea bags this week.
Looking forward to a lie in tomorrow.
Hope everyone is keeping well hugs to all who want them.

Grey here too this morning and I have a muzzy headache. Have taken some pain relief and luckily I’m working from home today which is good.
My day in London was fun apart from losing my return train ticket - new one cost me £25!! I blame meno brain fog as I’m usually so careful - ah well.
Dinner tonight is sticky chicken with rice - looking forward to that.
Enjoy your lunch out with your family @TravellingAbuela xHugs to you @dp1 it’s all so stressful x

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but with a bit of a breeze, I have the wm on and another load to go in after, I shall hang it all out today it should dry well.DD is still in bed she was in some pain with her mouth last night, I got it slightly wrong yesterday- the tooth has not been fitted yet they had to put something in the gum and let that settle for two months before putting a screw in and then that has to settle before the tooth is put in so it’s a long process but worth it in the end.
The new carer at O’s only lasted one day 🙄 she just wasn’t right for the job she was a little bit self obsessed, it’s a very alternative household which I love but she couldn’t cope with. I spoke to his mum yesterday and offered to go and stay there for four nights so she can get away to her place in France, she cried when I offered 🥹 and jumped at the chance, it will give her a good rest and be a good wage for me for the week so win win all round.
I have just put a gammon joint in the sc it was a half price one from MrT, I shall do carbonara with it tonight (soft for DD’s mouth) and ham egg and chips tomorrow and there will probably be enough for sandwiches during the week.
I’m going to take my car to the hand car wash today it’s filthy and we are away next weekend, I shall hoover it out later too.
DP1 I am thinking of you and sending hugs xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -

Really foggy and cold here this morning. A complete turn around from yesterday!
DH works at an osteopathy college as part-time handyman/caretaker. He had a phone call around 2.30am and I just came too to hear him say I'll be there shortly. Be interested to know what's happened there!
Just back from shopping. A Sky freebee of a pizza from Sainsbobs so that'll be Saturday's dinner sorted!
@dp1 hope things become a bit clearer for you today. Fingers crossed for you and your mum and dad x
Nothing else planned today so have a good day all X

Morning all, thanks @Gers for today's start off. Good to hear your car is now fixed, not so good that your tax rebate will be disappearing to pay for it. Have a chilled weekend after a long week.
We had some overnight mist that's just about cleared now and, although it will be a dry day again, there won't be as much sunshine. Just a light breeze with not much difference in actual and feels like daytime temperatures of up to 14 deg.
Usual Friday of weekly admin, small top up shop and another laundry load to do. Easy dinner tonight of fresh basa fillet and mushy peas. DS will be happy with something soft to eat as he's managed to bite his tongue after tripping UP the stairs. 😕 I'd forgotten just how accident prone he can be - not to mention leaving lights on so the house resembles a mini Blackpool illuminations at times and leaving doors open for the heat to escape. 🙄 His job search continues as does the minefield of negotiating the benefits system for some kind of financial support. He has an appointment at the Job Centre to look forward to next week too.
@Ruby - Sorry to hear DD's mouth is painful and that O's new carer wasn't up to the job.
Not much else to waffle about so I'll wish everyone a good day and will be thinking of all those trying to cope with life's struggles. Take care, try not to stress. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hello everyone, bit late today. Thanks Gers, car repairs seem extortionate these days!
I have been having a quick read through most days- usually later on as we seem to have had a busy week. This morning after the dog walk I caught up on the washing and cleaning the bathroom. It's still sunny here but cooler. Just made a cottage pie for tea later, DH has just called at the chippy so I've had a fish!
Had some good news yesterday, my youngest niece has got the teaching job she wanted so was very happy. She works very hard so it's paid off for her.
Dp1, keeping my fingers crossed your DParents get some resolution soon that they're happy with 🤞
TA,enjoy your celebrations.
Ruby, shame about the carer but so good of you to stay so O's mum can have a break.
Take care all
