MP Estate Planning & Asset Preservation Trusts - Buyer Beware!

Searching through the forums there is an older thread which covered this firm, which you can find below. The thread has been closed, but I came across information related to this, so thought I'd post it in case anyone else does a search about this company.

The article is by well known tax lawyer, Dan Neidle, and is posted on his Tax Policy Associates website under

https://taxpolicy.org.uk/2026/03/13/mp-estate-planning-trust-misselling-investigation/

It's worth a read as it covers not only MP Estate Planning, but also Asset Preservation Trusts (also sometimes called Lifetime Trusts or Family Protection Trusts), with many of the comments applying generally and not just to this firm.

I hope that helps.

I have enormous regard for Dan Neidle and his unflagging efforts to expose charlatans (in the tax planning world) as well as prominent people attempting to evade their tax responsibilities ( a former Chancellor of the Exchequer being one such individual Neidle as outted in the past ).

With regard to his present investigation of the insidious world of Asset Preservation Trusts, awareness of his work in this regard will be completely unknown by the large cohort of inviduals likely to be sucked into the dangerously misleading Facebook/You tube marketing of these bogus schemes.

However for the tiny minority prepared to research the viabilty of these schemes, they will find Neidle's report far too heavy going and overly technical for most to comprehend.

A shame really, since a more succinct report targeting the industry as a whole rather than focusing on the activities of a specific charlatan in this space may have been more effective in my view.

Dan Neidle's Bluesky threads are generally more easily digested than the full blog posts, eg in this instance https://bsky.app/profile/danneidle.bsky.social/post/3mgwpawsuum27
