Product switch during remortgage application

We're coming up to 4 months until our existing fix ends and, while waiting for Nationwide to send an offer our way, have watched interest rates jump over the past week - one product we had an eye on was 4.3% last week, and 4.99% this week.

I don't want to wait any longer only for rates to rise further, so my question is do Coventry BS, Yorkshire BS and Accord all allow product switches between application and remortgage completion? I'm obviously hoping that rates might just drop a little between now and the beginning of August.

We are looking at offset mortgages in particular (in case that makes a difference to the ability to switch during application), but will still consider/weigh up a new fix with Nationwide when they offer us a deal to stay with them next month.

Cheers.

if you are remortgaging to another lender, they are not really interested in your current mortgage or and arrangement you have with your existing lender. It will be for you to sort out any early redemption penalties should they arise from your current or future rate fixes with Nationwide.

Thanks. I'm not worried about penalties, as they won't apply. My reference to my existing lender is because they will only let us switch product in the last 4 months (which starts 1 April), so we don't yet know what rate they will offer us for another fixed term - but we'll consider it when they do.

I'm mainly interested in whether Coventry and YBS/Accord allow you to switch to a different product with them mid-application.
