Redundancy - Insolvent employer - notice period
I worked for a firm for a year and 11 months when it was shut down - insolvent. The Insolvency practitioner has sent through documentation so a claim can be made for unpaid notice, untaken annual leave and any redundancy.
On first glance I've not worked there for 2 years, however AI (yeah, I know!) suggests that the unserved notice period should be taken into account which would take me safely over the two years.
I'm trying to locate a local solicitor to answer this but I don't want to be paying out legal fees if it's a definite no - there's no specialist employment lawyer in my local town and definitely no free half hour consultation!
Anyone know if it is the case before I commit to a paid appointment

Have a look at the Citizens' Advice website
"You might be unsure what your length of service is if:
you weren't given the statutory notice period you were entitled to you were given pay in lieu of notice
In these situations you can work out your length of service by adding on the amount of statutory notice you should have had."

Thanks. That answers it, statutory notice would be a week so I don't qualify. My actual contractual notice period being 3 months.
(And I'd reckoned to have read that - brain is a shed ATM)
