Bed toppers choosing

Couldn't find a general shopping forum so hope you can help.

I have a chair come bed , 3ft, it's not as comfortable as it seemed in the shop. Been meaning to buy a topper and now a friend is to stay overnight. I'd also like to use it if we get another heatwave.

However I have no idea which type would be best. I also need it to fold up and store most of the time.

And not expensive. Argos have a lot. There's a store 10mins away.

Any recommendations please?

I know it's how long is a piece of string but helping me to focus would be good.

How much additional comfort are you looking for? A thick (memory foam) topper would be bulky to store and couldn't be left on the chair when it's folded.

Alternatively you could go for something like a quilted mattress protector - which would be washable and a bit easier to store - but it wouldn't add a lot of padding.

Edit this kind of topper can smooth over the ridges you get from the different parts of the chair - if that's the uncomfortable bit?

As an alternative, have you thought of a self inflating airbed? I have one of these and it's super comfy https://amzn.eu/d/04BvTk05

    Thanks Emma, that's helpful.

As I've never experienced any of these that's good information. I need to learn about what can be folded as well as an idea for comfort.

I don't have room for an inflatable, very small rooms and no storage to speak of.

The airbed (single size) in storage terms would take up a little more room than quilted mattress protectors.

Another option, what about a self inflating camping mat? They can roll up smaller than a mattress topper.

Duvalay do a compact topper for camper vans (although expensive, people often sell second hand via online platforms when they sell their vans)
