Thankyou all great replies and things I hadn’t thought of, yes bank work I was told would be available when qualified so that is an option as well, and I’m going to look for part time work as well for along side it if shifts permit, have been told won’t ever finish later then 4pm so maybe evening job in supermarket would be ideal.

I guess as well money isn’t everything is it and need to cut our cloth accordingly. Won’t be forever I’m sure.

Having had quite a few blood tests, I think I would soon get bored being a phlebotomist, especially keep having to say "sharp scratch" every 5 minutes or so.

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Just to advocate the devil to your devil..

Sometimes a different boring to the current boring is interesting for a few years. Most jobs are somewhat repetitive, as people become specialised in one thing and there's little point in everyone doing everything so-so on rotation.

Agree I'd think about what OP would regret more.

Well yes but no more than the current quality of life presumably? Granted maybe a bit more time travelling, but your total working hours would be the same as now? Or do you mean the new job is part time because you're in unpaid training for the 'other' 20 ish hours a week?

    hi

I currently work full time 40 hours a week and new role is 19 hours a week. Same distance travelling wise as well.

How long do you intend to carry on working for (assuming no spokes in the works) what is the impact on the pension, are you writing off the chance for savings or hoping to recoup that gap a few years in? Just a couple of things I would be thinking of. I looked at retaining to be an OT but at the end of the day it wasn't variable on cost.
