Morning all - thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons
I've just read back of yesterday's thread and am sending huge love to @dp1 - what an awful situation for everyone. These unexpected bad events are so terrible. The upside (if there is one) is that your beloved parents are both safe and being well cared for.
Yesterday was such a fabulous day, I even took my jacket off! We had a great brunch in a new'ish cafe called Top Loaf, the interior, staff abd food were all so impressive and I had the best ever hash potatoes. In the evening we went to see Matt Parker who is a mathematician/ comedian- he was fascinating and hugely enjoyable.Today is all about travelling back to Glasgow, fingers crossed for a smooth trip this time. I hope that everyone has a good day. Hugs all round

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. We are back to the usual gloominess this morning and the temps seem to have dropped a bit too. Oh well Spring was nice whilst it lasted!
GERS I hope your train trip is less eventful on your return journey! Dp1 my thoughts have been with you since your post yesterday, it's so sad. I think I have forgotten other news but hope all are well.
I have the Friday Tidy to look forward to - not. Friday's seem to roll round quicker than any other day. Kitchen and bathroom, and towel and mat wash, got done yesterday so just a dust and vac up and down today. A pretty boring day all told.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) as usual for all in need or want of them. Take care all, be safe x

Seems we’re back to rain here, windy too and chilly. I had thought it was due to be dry and sunny again so will have to switch around my outdoor ‘to-dos’ and find some indoor jobs. Blood donation this afternoon so must remember to drink plenty!
Safe trip home Gers. DP1, I hope that visiting your parents went well, how quickly things can change. Please look after yourself too.
Take care allAA

Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
So sorry to read about your parents @dp1 - that’s a lot to be dealing with. Sending you a huge hug xx
We drove two cars yesterday and put a deposit down on the first one. Just need to move some money about and sort insurance, and will pick it up on 17th. We will sell our current one privately as the trade in value wasn’t great.
I’m going to the allotment today - weather is a bit dull and some drizzle due at lunchtime. I’m hoping to be home by then 🤞🏻Dinner is beef stroganoff.
I hope the book day events went well for those that took part. Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. It's dull and a bit chilly here, after such a glorious day yesterday.
Yesterday we had a video call with family in Sydney but I had to leave early to meet friends for lunch in Harpenden. We had a good browse around the shops then lunch at a small cafe and coffee and cake at another place further along the High St, where we could sit outside in the sunshine. So lovely to be able to take my coat off and sit in the sun.
Today I'm having a shopping morning and hope to buy a few bits for DGS3, who is expected in May. DS says they have bought a few clothes but have no idea if they've bought the right things or in the correct size!
Other than that I'll be pottering at home then it's salmon and roasted veg for dinner. I've taken some h/g plums out of the freezer and will make a crumble if we're still hungry.
Hope all goes well for everyone today.

Morning all
Dry here for now but some light drizzle due later, I was wide awake at 6.30 this morning despite wanting a lay in 🙄 I can always have a nana nap later.
I’m taking the lock in from the back door this morning to a local lock shop it’s an unusual one so they said the best thing to do is take it all in and they will try and match it, so I will do that after walking the dogs.
I’m meeting a friend at lunch time, she took over my job in the cafe and has now left and has taken a grievance out against them, we are meeting for a walk and a coffee so I can get the low down, it’s quite a toxic place to work and they lose a lot of good staff because of this, it will be interesting to see what happened.
Dinner tonight will be satay chicken and rice nice and easy. I have put a wash on this morning which can go on the airer.
Oscar and his mum gave me a huge bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine yesterday for my Birthday which is tomorrow, the flowers are so beautiful and I was so grateful, she said we will never be able to say thank you enough for helping us sort out the new care arrangements 🥹 bless them.
DP1 I was so sorry to read about your parents that must have been very hard for all of you, take care of yourself xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -

Good morning
Spring has disappeared, it's dark and gloomy outside, dry at present but rain forecast soon. I blame DH as he washed both cars yesterday. Speaking of which I keep saying he should go and fill his van up, my car has 3/4 of a tank and I know he'll keep on using it before getting fuel in his, grrr.
Plans for today are to give the wall tiles in the kitchen a good clean and polish. I noticed yesterday how the sunshine showed up every little mark. Sausages and mash for tea, I've made a meal plan for the next week to use up some of the food in the freezer ready for Easter bargains.
Dp1, you and the family in my thoughts.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning everybody,dull & gloomy again.
I've just caught up on yesterdays news and was really sorry to see you've had such a distressing time @dp1 Lots of hugs for you and your family.
@RedRuby1231 , lovely to see how appreciated you are by O & Mum. Happy birthday for tomorrow.
DH collected the car, brought it home then decided to get fuel, lots of warning lights came on including dpf.We got the fuel, a brief call in at H..craft.By the time we got home it had gone into 'limp mode' so he rang the garage and took it back.He was annoyed as they had it 6 weeks so you think they'd realise the battery might get flat.Anyway hopefully it's ok now, they took it for a run up the motorway with the mechanic on the laptop.
I called in on some neighbours up the road, he has a life limiting lung condition & is on oxygen all the time. They don't have many visitors and were pleased I'd called. I hadnt been since before Xmas & certainly didn't want to pass on the awful cough virus.
Hope the train journey is ok Gers.
Take care all.

Morning all
Just back from shopping. Always takes longer when DH is with me!
Bought some new pillowcases. After buying pillowcases for the last 40 odd years or so who knew they came in different sizes/lengths, not me. The last ones I got are too long so I've checked the sizes and bought ones that will now fit.
Took some bits to the charity shop while out and we had breakfast at Marks for a change.
Hope everything will be a little settled now @dp1
Nice to be appreciated @RedRuby1231
Have a good journey home @Gers
Have a good day all x
