Can i return a item with no receipt?

i bought a Christmas tree from Argos on tuesday but then found another one on their website which suits us better.

It has Argos all over it even the item number is printed on it.

So will they be able to swap this for the other one?

They are exempt from the 30 day Money Back Garuntee. This is because people try and bring them back in January claiming they hadn't used them lol. As you say you bought it on tuesday then they are able to trace your sale. Tell them the rough time you bought it as well and im sure they will refund it, pending that the quality of the item is 'as new'. You will be offered gift vouchers for the value however, as you cannot prove by which mode you paid.

I did not realize they were not in the 30 days money back and was not told this i know it says on the bottom.

But as i bought it Thursday not Tuesday it is only 3 days ago and i only opened the box to see everything was inside and thats it. But i reserved the wrong one. Lets hope i can find the receipt as the store i bought this and the one i got a reserve at are diffrent ones i dont mind paying for the reserved items there and collecting at the diffrent store.

Will Argos always offer vouchers for returns without a receipt? even if they can't trace the order?

No receipt is mostly vouchers, in the case that a customer can produce a bank statement then it is possible to refund the value back onto a credit/debit card, however, this is at the discretion of the customer service operator, as Argos is not obligied by law to do this.

so it would be possbile for someone to return a product not bought from Argos and get vouchers for it?

I'm not saying I'm doing this just wondering as Argos seem quite relaxed about it?

They know if the product came from Argos because the item number is on the packaging.

Has anyone got a refund/exchange on an item that was excluded from the 30day money back and got no receipt to go with it

Went it and they did not question it, she went to check the time i bought it and then refunded me. And i had reserved the other tree about 10 miles away as it had shown out of stock, but they had 2 in stock but as they were displayed they could not be reserved online.

But excellent service

The number on the packaging dosent mean PoP anymore as in the past people have made up there own stickers at home, plus other shops sell the same items that have argos's cat number on them( wh'smiths, tesco's,, sainsburys, that i know of ,there may be more):)

:T Hi Mr. Kennedy, yeah I got an exchange, without receipt, but only because my TV was faulty. I bought a 32in LCD TV in July 07 and over Christmas (of all times) it broke down and would'nt come off stand-by I contacted Bush and they told me as it was under 1 year old I should contact Argos. After a few problems initially (no receipt) the lady checked up by phone and confirmed that I had bought it when I said, and offered my an exchange!
