Failed GivEnergy AIO
Hi,
My battery failed after 10 months, my question is who has the liability ? the installer or the manufacturer ?
I have been trying to get support from GivEnergy since December, but their support is dreadful.
I'm now worried since GivEnergy look like they are going bust, and my installer is just ignoring my request to look at the system.
So I am wondering who should i make a small claim against ?

Who did you buy the battery off? If it was the installer then you go after them. If you bought off GivEnergy then it’s them. Did you pay more than £100 of the bill (e.g. a deposit) with a credit card? If that’s the case then you can also go after the credit card company (Section 75).

1st Instance is who did you pay?
Have a look at EVM on U-Tube. He has just been made redundant by them (he was just a content creator) but did have some interesting comments to make.

I only dealt with installer, unfortunately I didnt pay by credit card.

I would draft a letter before action and send it to the installer. They are liable for this.

If it was installed as part of an MCS certified system, you should also have an insurance-backed guarantee in case your installer goes under.
